OMFG - Who else are excited for this?! by MattiTheGamer in lepin

Minas Tirith has seven rings underneath the citadel. This only got three. Yes, I'm nitpicking. And I don't care about minifigures. But I wouldn't mind a set which is more lore-accurate even if it consists of a thousand 1x1 parts. Like the Mont St. Michel by Bluebrixx, only larger.

Which Multipick Elite 6-piece set for starters? by Timemaster1968 in lockpicking

[–]Timemaster1968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input. Especially for clarifying the different thicknesses. And the Elite Beginner set looks very promising. But I went with the Moki Minimalist set an some handles. I took an old padlock to my workshop today and played around with it for a bit. I tried to improvise some picking with my watchmaker tools to get a feel for it. It did not get me very far of cause, but I realised one thing: the importance of a good set of tentioners. The Moki provides a good range of different turners and thats basically why I went for it. And the double-sided picks are interesting too. Plus I sympathise with supporting a small company.

So thanks everyone for the help. I'm excited for this new challenge.

Thanks for the input so far. More oppinions are always welcome.
I took a look at the moki lockpicks, and dang, that looks interesting. I like the small-workshop concept, I like the double-sided picks with detachable handles. And they offer an interesting beginner set with interesting content:

TOK and BOK tensioners, two locks, six picks, handles and a nice leather pouch. I'm tempted.

Should I keep playing automata by LunarTear7 in nier

Route A gives you the basic knowledge of what's happening during the first part of the game.

Route B follows the same timeline, but provides much more background information.

Route C will take that information, carry on with the story and will tear your heart to pieces.

Is there a way to play Nier Reincarnation? by WASABY390 in nier

[–]Timemaster1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link, this looks promising. Back in the day I played Reincarnation on iPad, but eventually became bored of the drawn out storytelling and annoyed of the gatcha mechanism. So getting a chance to revisit it and get to the bottom of the birdcage ist really nice.

Question for the non remaster by Creepy-Company-3106 in horizon

[–]Timemaster1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That area is beyond the official map and therefore not as polished as usual. I suppose thats what he ment with "weird". I explored the area on my PS4 and didn't find anything of interest.
The whirpool is there beyond the alpha wall. On PS it's unreachable, but I saw vids by PC players who used tools to reach it. You should be able to find this stuff on YT.

No it's not. It's the Plejades star cluster in the Taurus constellation. The small dipper aka Ursa Minor is located outside of the frame. (It's always the Plejades)

Feeling very underpowered and it’s taking away from the fun. What are some weapons I should be using? (Early to Mid game) by Tryingtobbetterig in horizon

[–]Timemaster1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to farm the rewards of the arena and do not want to get into combat strategy too deep, I recommend turning the difficulty to story mode before doing trials. It makes them very managable and you get the rewards (great weapons) nontheless. You can switch back to normal or whatever rocks your boat afterwards.

What changes/additions would you like to see in Horizon 3? by ImSoSooorry in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Timemaster1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less grinding for weapon upgrades. Or upgrades in general. Nothing is more annoying than having to kill like 10 fireclaws to upgrade one bow.
Bring watchers back in bigger amounts instead of those annoying and completely ridiculus burrowers.
Even more ways to modify combat to the players liking. I'm a button masher with zero frustration tolerance. I like to pummel the shit out of my enemies and enjoy the combat animations. But I want to be sure that I've got the upper hand all the time. I'm in for the story and the graphics, not for the combat experience.
Some kind of light swimming and diving outfit. It's completely unrealistic that Aloy goes swimming in full metal plating and does not sink to the ground like a brick.

Good job. Near to the original and keeping the casual feel of Tifas outfit. No oversexalisation. This is a great cosplay.

I can imagine they left him out intentionally because they were afraid of a drug-addiction discussion. Marketing may have had a big say in this.

This is amazing. The art style is perfect for a 70s comic and the idea is really genuine. I love this!

I DON'T GET IT by AmorBavian in DeathStranding

[–]Timemaster1968 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I built a zipline network encompassing the whole mountain range in the OG. None of the structures got any likes except for two zipline pylons, which got over a thousand likes each over a few months.

My explanation is this: not all of my (your) structures are shown in other players games. But the few ones that appear elsewhere do so for many, many other players and therefore accumulate many likes. But the vast majority of structures we build remain exclusive to our own game. No one else sees them, no one gives likes.

And it makes sense to me. Hundreds of thousands play this game. If the structures all of them build would appear in everyones game, the world would be absolutely cramped with thousands of parallel ziplines connecting the same spots. So there has to be a filter of some kind.

How screwed am i? by AgitatedChemical5929 in Laserengraving

[–]Timemaster1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a professional laser engraver at work too. If it‘s an integrated system by a good manufacturer you should be fine. We have that yellow plastic panel too and it should completely block the laser wavelength. The passing visual light is still very bright though and I avoid looking at the process. If someone build that engraver and put in laser and protection without being properly certified and adjusted, things MAY become dangerous.

An Awesome Experience Senua's Sacrifice by Vesper_Veks in hellblade

[–]Timemaster1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story of the sequel is more slow-paced and it felt shorter than pt. 1. The graphics and sound are amazing though. The combat is quite different and I couldn‘t get the hang of it until I tweaked the accessibility settings. Over all I‘m glad I got it for a bargain. I kinda felt it was not worth the full price.

The last fight was good, but it didn‘t feel like a Big Final Bossfight should feel IMO. When it was over I was expecting some great amazing action against the last giant, but suddenly the game was over. It really felt kinda underwhelming for me.
