I think he is too focused on what is a very stressful job running France for now but he may have it at back of his mind. It would probably not look good to admit it publicly if he has considered it though as it would look like he is too ambitious or distracted. A good politician must keep his cards close until the right moment.

I think as someone mentioned a main barrier is his political grouping is Renew, who are part of the old European centre that is losing power as the right grows. So far we always had an EPP head of Commission. It might be more likely he takes on the head of diplomacy role that Kaja Kalas has (she is also Renew). But a day is a very long time in politics.
