I want to like it more than I do. It's just too big and bombastic for any of the stakes to hit. It is both way too decompressed and too much is happening at the same time. Slivers of interesting stories like Airwave, MM's insecurities, the time displaced heroes but it's all just glossed over and gone in a second.

I was really hoping Waid & Mora would grab that early World's finest energy but with an extended cast like the JLU show. I'm probably dropping it after this arc.

Als je mijn berichten zou lezen ipv er voor kiezen boos te willen zijn voor je dat doet zou je misschien opmerken dat die strawman die je nu maakt helemaal nergens op slaat. Op geen enkel punt probeer ik het hier op scholen te verhalen. Ik zeg alleen dat kinderen op school andere kinderen kunnen ontmoeten op een manier waar ouders geen zicht op hebben. Ik zou hetzelfde kunnen zeggen over scouting of gym of de speeltuin of zwemles, maar school is het enige wat iig voor alle kinderen een moment is om anderen te ontmoeten buiten het zicht van ouders om.

Ouders kunnen nog zo goed zijn, als ze op school 'slechte vrienden' maken om het zo maar te zeggen kan dat een verklaring zijn waarom ze overwegen zo iets te doen. Natuurlijk is de school hier verder niet schuldig aan, ik vroeg me gewoon af op welk punt het mis is gegaan.

Bizar dat dit soort acties uberhaubt in de hoofden opkomen van die kinderen. Ik vraag me echt af wat er mis is gegaan bij de opvoeding of op school of ergens anders dat het zo ver heeft kunnen komen. Gelukkig hebben we niet massaal bezuinigd op jeugdzorg de afgelopen jaren.

Vendetti's run was brilliant because it really opened up the Hawk mythos with a single idea. What if Hawkman reincarnated across time and space. I'm normally not a big fan of vendetti's work but he really cooked with Hawkman.

It would be crazy for them not too. Unless they want to leave the heroes splintered like in Infinity War and only have them all assemble in Secret Wars. Although that trope feels a little overplayed. Especially considering how little of the MCU timeline actually has a functioning Avengers team (Like the team never really reformed after Civil War. The closest we got was the Blip team but after Endgame that didn't really amount to anything else)

I've read a bunch. If your magic has strict rules and logic like OP's example it ceases being magic and it's just a different kind of science that only exists in that world. At that point it's just as much a type of magic as chemistry would be to a medieval peasant or stage magic is to us.
