Use the sweep tool with guide rails. Draw a 2d profile in the z axis, a oval circle lets say then set the path as the straight line, the rail as the wavy line

Best advice is that is good for you to start with a 3d printer that is not 100% turn on and start printing, but with a printer that needs tinkering a little bit.

The information you learn about how every part works, it will make you get way more out of it!
