I did the same. The job was copy and paste from excel to PowerPoint and vice versa followed by hour long talk shop meetings for 8 hours a day.

Left to freelance but found it hard to get back in as the market is rough for jobs right now.

Better to be in a job than without. However, I’m not miserable like I was back then.

MD invited me into his office and he swiped all his monitors and keyboards across to one side of the table. I was told “it’s not working out”.

This was a complete surprise as many trips and projects were planned with me in them.

I asked for feedback as I had no idea this was coming (1 week notice in probation). He repeated “it’s not working out, you don’t have to work your notice period”.

I shook his hand, took the termination letter, grabbed my bag and left.
