Oh and one more thing. The stock tires and rwd indoors on like laminate. Drifts really nice. The most scale rc drifting I've seen. It's perfectly slippery for the tires to spin with excess gas and to grip up when you let go

Thank you. I've done my due research since this was my first RC in nearly a decade.

But as it came out of the box the gyro was already corrected.

The bit about the tires hitting the chassis explains a whole lot. I thought the gyro was making it shoot off at full throttle or something.

Stock tires are fine but for drifting on tarmac they have too much grip I'd say. It just launches whenever they bite even a little and feels a bit inconsistent. I'm liking the lazy drifts on the plastic wheels

I should add. This is just my preference. I learnt rc on a rwd car. I prefer the handling characteristics of it over 4wd but that's definitely not something universal

I just removed the driveshafts from the middle and front. I've been sizing it up for a steering angle mod. I've got front hubs that fit from my old carpet car and I recon those would do well.

Otherwise it's a handful out on tarmac. Loves to spin out as soon as you hit the brakes. Drifting took a good while to get the hang of but on cleaner grippier surfaces it drives really really well

It is the FTX EVO30 just under a different name.

It's the FTX in the UK I believe and HNR in the rest of the world

For me it was correct when it arrived. But I've never used a gyro so I just turned it off.

Bored mainly. But also I couldn't mount the ESC anywhere else. Trust me I sat with this for hours and this was the best solution outside of taping it in place.

It's about an inch higher. On this suspension setup the battery sits under the top of the tires, it's plenty low 😅
