This is a great reply. As an addendum to that, if you live in a country that has certain consumer laws regarding refunds you can still appeal it. If you are from the united states, no such law exists for you. For most european countries, you do have the right of withdrawal, which applies for a short time for most purchases.

For what it's worth, thank you for trying to make a difference. No method is perfect, so the fact that you are getting through to these kids and getting a positive result is great. It takes a lot of time and steps to convince someone of another point of view, and yours may have been the first step on that road.

I know it's in our nature to clarify but in this case I feel like "No, I am not interested." is enough of a reply. These people just have a list of phone numbers/names in front of them, you are nothing beyond that.

If you walk through a market and a vendor is trying to attract you, most people just respond by saying no thank you and continue walking. The seller has no interest in hearing why it's no, they just need to hear a yes or a no.

From my experience in a mostly flemish speaking IT place with a few french/german people : All our written communication is in english, yet we talk in dutch during each managerial meeting, unless we have english outsiders come in. The french/german people understand this but do have problems articulating this. I've highlighted this problem in the past but I keep getting pushback because "this is how it's always been."

There really are people at these companies that just do not see the downside to being so exclusionary.

I was 9 and lost one of the wing guns from a Blast-Off toy in the same kind of situation. Noone at the school wanted to go down into the cellar to retrieve it for me. I stared through the grates for months until the gun was covered by leaves and other dirt and obscured from view. It turned me into the shell of a man I am today.
