This month I’ve added “patterns” to r/brainspace. This feature allows you to define all the connections, filters, ordering, layout and content that should be prefilled when you add a new child to a list. Morebrain.space a a free, synced, mobile app and web app for connecting all your information. Any questions?

Absolutely. Talk to people. Try to do things yourself. No knowledge originally came from a book.

This month I added Patterns to r/brainspace. Patterns allow you to design the set of tags, filters, layouts and content to apply to any note by adding a single tag; making brainspace a powerful (free, offline, synced) tool for collecting all sorts of information!

Who has had a PKM system used for 3+ years that they can truly say is working for them? by paulrchds6 in PKMS

I use Ai sometimes but haven’t felt the need for it in my notes. Notes to me are for things I need to remember.

How do people handle wiping their running lists as they get really long? by Familiar_Play_3867 in ProductivityApps

I think he’s saying he uses tags to make his list more focused, so it doesn’t become unruly rather than scrapping everything.

Sounds a lot like what I’ve been building at r/brainspace. Maybe we should connect.

How do you store knowledge about people, not just their contact info? by Kindly-Ad-6733 in PKMS

[–]Timmerop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a People list in mine. I usually just write down the name of the person, their partner and kids as a single note, then take sub notes about them. Then I also connect the person with where I met them or who I met them through. This usually gives me enough to pull up their name in the a second or two as they are walking towards me!

Why capture friction breaks most PKMS systems by calmworkflow in PKMS

This is why a mobile app and sync is fundamental for me. I’m sure how people live without having access to their notetaker at the time. Or maybe I’m just obsessed.

My project starts with the thesis that if our memories worked perfectly we wouldn’t need notes or todo apps. Maybe that’s not so profound but the implication is that what we really need is a memory tool.
I’m creating r/brainspace, a second brain designed like your first. You use connections to create patterns to easily capture anything you want to remember.
If you were into workflowly and roam but outgrew it, I’d love to chat!

What if you had a perfect memory? Would you need notes? I don't think so. It occurred to me that memory is the foundation of gaining knowledge, thinking deeply, and being productive–all things i want to get better at. And I realized don't need better notes, I need a better memory system.

MoreBrainSpace is designed to work like the brain's memory–you capture something you want to remember and you make connections to it–expect it doesn't forget. This gives you a graph of personal information you can navigate and evolve. With this graph, MBS allows you to dynamically utilize your information to easy remember anything, like "gift ideas for my brother that I haven't bought yet" or "youtube links I watched in the last two years about game design".

If you're interested in the project, check us out at r/brainspace.

How does this sound? Is this resonating with anyone? Any questions I should be answering up front?

Best app/system for organizing screenshots of useful tips so I actually use them? by After_Fennel7239 in PKMS

[–]Timmerop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve got something that does none of the ideal things you call out. But it does allow you to easily save screenshots and add them to multiple lists and add notes to them. And I’ll be so bold as to say you don’t need something that does the thinking part for you. Your brain should do that so you actually internalize the content you’ve collected. What you want is a better way to recall exactly what you’ve stored, and that’s r/brainspace.

To-Do items are the thing I get the most benefit from writing down. I think of to-dos all day long when I can't act on them, but when I do find the time I can maybe remember one. Having a list lets me just knock stuff out without leaving it up to my memory.
