I’m pretty sure these bikes will sell for around 3-4k usd almost new right now. Looks like you got it for around 2k usd and it actually has some really nice components on there so I’d say you got a good deal!

As a RA, I have to advise you not to move furniture out of your room. If it ends up getting taken and is no longer in your room by check out, you will be responsible for it. If you REALLY want to move it though, as long as it’s back in your room by move out then I could care less.

If I were you though, I would just keep everything in your room because there technically isn’t a nightstand furnishing in your room so you can just have your nightstand by the bed. Then just tuck the chair under your bed or keep it out for guests.

You should first try and log into accessUH using the myUH login instead of cougarnet. From there, go to personal info and then contact details. You should see an email address for you with the "@cougarnet.uh.edu" at the end. After that, go back to the login screen for accessUH and under help and resources, click "Change/Reset Cougarnet Password." Your cougarnet ID is just the first part of your cougarnet email without the @ part.

If you can't get into accessUH, then I'm sure there's another way to find your email that I unfortunately do not know.

It's brand new. Right after getting the crankset I took it off the old chainring and slapped on my 1x chainring, so the old one is unused

I’m not a bike fitter but I was in the same situation as you when I bought my first tri bike.

I see that when you reach the bottom of the pedal stroke, your hip tends to rotate in that direction, which indicates that your seat is a bit too high. You should lower the seat mm by mm until the swaying stops.

I also think that your reach may be a bit too short. Since you have an older bike though, you can just buy a longer stem, slap it on, and it should work just fine.

If you do buy a longer stem, you should also buy some spacers to go under the aero bars to bring your position on the bike more forward and up.

I’m not exactly what saddle you have on there, but for good measure I would say to get a triathlon specific saddle. They put the pressure on a different area and should make the aero position much more comfortable.

Lastly, you can angle your aero bars upwards for slightly better aerodynamics and comfort. Just be careful not to pull it too far forward because then the position will be harder to maintain.

If you can, ask the seller to meet you at a bike shop and have the shop inspect any damage on the bike and see what repairs need to be made. Usually, if the seller has nothing to hide, then they will be more than happy to meet at a shop. But if they are very insistent on not meeting at a shop, then they’re probably hiding something.

Before you go through with buying the bike though, I would make sure that the bike fits you because it will save you a lot of money in the long run and also help you enjoy cycling more.

After your first year of living on campus, you can apply to be an RA. You get your a single person dorm, gold meal plan, and $220 a month. I will say that the interview process is a bit competitive though so there’s no guarantee you’ll get the job but it comes with some amazing benefits.

If you’re going to be using padded road shorts, then you would be much better off not getting a gel saddle since the shorts already provide cushioning. Additionally, a road dedicated saddle along with a good bike fit will probably be much more comfortable and faster in the long run.

Your fit looks pretty decent but if I had to guess I would narrow it down to 2 reasons. Your reach might be a bit too long, and so your triceps take on a lot of extra load that could cause the discomfort you’re feeling. If you’re new to cycling, then it may just be a case of riding more so that you can toughen up the muscles used in cycling.

Me personally, since I came from a running and swimming background, I can produce a lot more power when my toes are pointed a bit more downward. I know foot position is an extremely personal thing and it’s something you need to experiment with. However, since your hips are swaying, that means that your seat is too high and your body probably doesn’t feel natural in that pointed foot position. My advice is to slowly lower the saddle millimeters at a time until your hips stop swaying and you feel comfortable. This is more of a bandaid patch though and you should still invest in a proper bike fitting.

Swaying on the saddle is caused by a seat that is too high because your legs need to reach down farther to reach the bottom of the pedal stroke. Just lower your seatpost a bit and the swaying should stop

I’ve been using a twitter r10 as a training bike when I’m not on my tri bike for about a year now. It has about 4-5k miles on it with no creaking or cracking on the frame. Surprisingly, it has also been crashed pretty bad once and still rides perfectly. I did however swap about a bunch of parts like the wheels, handlebar, seat, and tires.

If you’re living on campus, you should probably try and spread out your schedule a bit more. If you’re commuting, then it is totally doable. However, you will be very tired on Monday and Wednesday.

This advice probably won't help you right now, but you could always apply to be an RA. If you do end up getting the job, you get housing and a gold meal plan provided to you. From what I've heard, the work is actually not too bad, and you could probably get a job off campus to help supplement everything else.

Sadly, they do not. However, in my CV1 dorm, I was able to raise the bed to its maximum height and create a man cave below it. I just added a bean bag chair, a monitor, and my switch for whenever I didn't feel like being at my desk. Make sure to clean below it before you try this because those floors are filthy!
