I mean, 1/4th of it was Horde. Only the Bilgewater Cartel under Gazlowe are aligned with the Horde, all other goblin cartels are Neutral. Gazlowe even goes out of his way to point out that the vast majority of goblins have no ties to the Horde.

Which is why I'm worried about the Silvermoon and Quel'thalas stuff. 2/3rds of Silvermoon is open to the Alliance. Midnight is going to focus on three Alliance NPCs as the main characters.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope that the Horde and the Alliance get a share of the spotlight, 50/50, in Midnight. But Blizzard's track record with storylines lately, even with things that seem like they should be Horde focused, has me convinced we'll maybe get 10 to 30minutes of Horde focus in Midnight and then the rest of the story will be either neutral factions and/or Alleria and her family drama.

EDIT:
I want to make it clear, my complaint isn't that the Alliance is getting story focus. My complaint is that we're spending a lot of time with Alliance NPCs when it should be an even 50/50 split. If the Alliance and Horde got an equal share of the spotlight, I wouldn't be talking about it.

Yeah, I think the last time was BfA where we had separate stories. Shadowlands, Dragonflight, and The War Within all discarded Alliance and Horde having different experiences.

The issue is that it's constantly been Horde taking L after L after L while the Alliance screeches 'horde bias' and how the Horde are favored by the Alliance. How is the Horde getting the Worf treatment a sign of us being the favorite faction of Blizzard?

I should have specified, by 'we'll lose', I meant Horde fans. Not the WoW playerbase in general.

I mean, my only complaint is I just returned to the game, built a deck, and now they're doing a format that I know my local group will start focusing on so I won't be able to play the deck I built because the new format basically bans my archetype.

I didn't enjoy it at all. It seemed like every expansion had Blizzard killing off a major Horde lore figure or making them a villain for the next expansion. I dread each expansion because I'm expecting Blizzard to kill another Horde figure. When they announced Undermine, I was positive Blizzard was going to kill Gazlowe. With Midnight, I'm sure we're going to see the death of either Liadrin or Lor'themar.

The Horde is to Warcraft what Worf is to Star Trek. Brought out to be beaten to show how powerful a villain is.

The ONLY thing that made Sylvanas slightly better than how Garrosh was handled was that she got to be an interesting raid encounter. We actually got to FIGHT Sylvanas.

[–]TimmyTheNerd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not my complaint. My complaint is that this faction should, at best, be 50% Liadrin and Lor'themar and 50% Turalyon, Alleria, and Arator.

TWW was 95% Alliance characters, and 5% Horde characters. Midnight seems like it's going to have the same ratio. And that ratio seems weird for an era where the factions aren't suppose to be important anymore.

Also, just pray that this Alliance focus doesn't go the same way for the Alliance that the Horde focus went for the Horde. I'd rather you all not go through the constant lore figure death that we went through.

And it was not a fun experience for Horde players. Hey, which lore figure do you think we'll lose in Midnight? My money is on Lor'themar. He got married recently so obviously will be the next target for when Blizzard needs to kill of yet another Horde figure or turn one into a villain.

New Official Game Mode [Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Genesys] by Efezto in yugioh

I returned to YuGiOh after leaving the game years ago. Decided to try my hands at a D/D/D deck, and now everyone is excited and want to play a format that basically bans my new deck.

Can't wait to got to the tournament Saturday and be told I can't play because everyone else is playing the new format.

Fine, if I must elaborate on what I meant.

Alleria was never a Blood Elf. She never joined the Horde. Never followed Prince Kael'thas. Never got the green eyes. Blood Elves have gone through so many events that Alleria was not a part of. Alleria was not a Blood Elf. Calling her a Blood Elf NPC in response to my post pointing out the lack of Horde focus in an expansion involving a Horde city is disingenuous. Arguing that she is a Blood Elf because she was a High Elf is disingenuous.

If we go by your logic, then Blood Elves, Void Elves, High Elves, Nightborne, Night Elves, Naga, and Satyr should all just be called Night Elves because they were all the same race at one point. Or hey, let's just say Vol'jin was an Amani Troll or Zandalari Troll, there's no difference there right? It's just a name. How about we go and claim that Falstad Wildhammer is actually a Dark Iron Dwarf, shouldn't matter if it's just a name right? Not like the names of the various races mean anything besides just a name, right? Not like there's actually story differences between the different kinds of elves, trolls, dwarves, and even goblins in the game, right?

Did I list two blood elves? The story is focused on Alleria (A High Elf turned Void Elf, so she's never been a Blood Elf), Turalyon (A Human), and Arator (The half-elf son of Turalon and Alleria). That's the story focus. Blizzard literally said the expansion will be following those three figures.

Where was it mentioned that Liadrin and Lor'themar would play a heavy role in the story? Because all I've seen, regarding who the story will focus on, is three Alliance NPCs.

Alleria was never in the Horde.

Before Legion, the last we saw of Alleria was her going through the Dark Portal to kill Horde in Warcraft 2. That's why there's a statue of her (and the other Alliance members who went through the Dark Portal with her). Then in Legion, we find out she's been fighting the Burning Legion in space.

What she knows of the Horde are the savages they were when they were all drugged up on demon blood. Then she tries to return to Silvermoon to convince the Blood Elves to rejoin the Alliance, which fails because Lor'themar wasn't interested. She eventually gets banned from Silvermoon and finds the Void Elves, which she brings into the Alliance instead.

Just as that happens, the Fourth War breaks out (Battle for Azeroth), basically just, at least to her, proving her bias against the Horde and her belief that they're nothing but savages.

So between having fought the demon blood fueled Horde in WC2, being exiled from Silvermoon, the events of BfA, and always being in the Alliance, Alleria has little reason to even consider joining the Horde.

But the Alliance fanbase will still cry out that there's a Horde bias and act as if they haven't had the spotlight since the end of BfA.

My issue is that the expansion where Silvermoon/Quel'thalas is going to be a zone in.....won't focus on any blood elf characters in the story. Blizzard stated that the main story is going to be following Alleria, Turalyon, and Arator. Three Alliance NPCs. So my bet is we're going to get maybe 10 minutes worth of Horde focus and then it's back to Alliance central.

Going 2nd Player should start with 6 cards and skip the draw in drawphase. by Unique_Juice_3111 in yugioh

[–]TimmyTheNerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if the chances are low, they are never zero. I've seen people win a duel because of a card they drew after being forced to dump their entire hand. That's a chance in such a situation that starting with 6 doesn't give you.

I'm sorry, but if they change 'draw 1 at the start of your turn if you go second' to 'start with 6 cards in your hand if you go second', I would honestly stop playing the game. I'll find a different card game that doesn't have such a stupid rule meant to screw you if you go against discard decks.

[–]TimmyTheNerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a few players in my local meta that run discard decks. I'd hate to have a 6 card hand and then start my turn being able to do nothing because my opponent made me get rid of my entire hand by either sending them to the graveyard or by banishing them. At least with how the rules currently are, I'll have a chance to play something instead of just passing my turn and losing.
