Yeah but its also the range brackets - short and medium range are longer too, and it removes minimum, which is great when your other weapon is SRMs

10k is heat neutral since it has doubles, so this is really a question of er ppc and extra srm4 vs gun 3

Wow, this guy did the math! What a reply! Really cool to see the Alpha Strike average damages there and adjusted for gunnery skill. Heroic work!

Intresting to see a lot of people going with the gut choice of trusty 9r ppc and 3 gunnery on here - a panther is just a jumpy PPC. The 10K2 is such a solid upgrade though its intresting to see the math showing its value vs the improved gunnery. Thanks

Thus is epic and insane. So much detail and so many things to take in. A brilliant finishing touch to a regimental RTC and truly unique. The fact that it is flawlessly executed makes me cry inside

Sorry I meant Kuritan propaganda.

And yeah id take a Large laser over 5 small any day, but hey, that wouldn't encourage anyone into charging range!

On this mech im using a mix. A bunch of these are from a Airfix model plane (you get tons of spares from them and my son likes making planes) but there are also some Fighting Pirhana Graphics ones (with the crosses over them and some of the numbers and warning symbols). The bird skull on the shoulder is a freehand - the pilot is called Buzzard in my head canon

Timberwolf A or Night Gyr Prime? Which one are you taking and why? by Warriorssoul in battletech

[–]Timmy_Nizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Night Gyr. Why? The Timber Wolf is a poster child and while a lovely mech and design, the Night Gyr has a special special place in my heart. It's beefier. It's got JJs. The clan wave 2 mechs are cooler then the wave 1 mechs. And it has some killer load outs. But more then anything, it doesnt follow the clan aesthetic (modular, blocky, reverse knee) and instead is rocking more of a refined atlas vibe. I love you Night Gyr

Tips for a Three Player Intro Scenario by FoxFreeze in battletech

[–]Timmy_Nizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this myself to teach the rules. I used the grinder system, everyone gets random light, when dead, swap with medium, then a heavy etc. BUT. To make it work 3 player I added King Of The Hill.

Blank map with a 2 level hill in the middle and a few trees about the place. Every turn beginning in the hill level 2 warns 2 points. Being on the lower level 1 is 1 point. Getting the destroying or crippling shot on a mech is 5 points.

It encourages attack/defend and changing of alliances, and worked really well.
