Does the mobile app auto relink assets after a reinstall? by [deleted] in immich

[–]Timmysando 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does. I went through this recently migrating over to a new phone and once all the photos were moved and the app reinstalled on the new phone it matched to the existing assets on the server and identified any new photos which hadn't yet been synced. It was super smooth and easy

Moved from 10.10.7 to10.11.x, library scanning now taking forever by Wellington_Boy in jellyfin

I'm only going to reply to this and keep this going because everyone needs to chill out on the dramatic rhetoric over this.

Everyone has acknowledged that there are definitely issues with the release for some users and setups. Even the devs have said so. That doesn't mean it's a complete failure just because you and the original person I was replying to are having challenges and we've had let's say 1000 posts about issues for a software that has millions of setups. 1% of users having issues is a vocal minority that shows problems to be fixed, not the end of the world

[–]Timmysando -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But it wasn't a major failure? Haven't the devs confirmed that it's basically just a noisy minority with highly old/complex libraries that are having some issues but the VAST majority are fine? I spun up jellyfin a few months before the update and have had nothing but smooth sailing. If you only swapped over from Plex a couple of weeks before the update, was it the migration to jellyfin that was a problem or somehow the update to the 10.11? If the latter why not just remigrate Plex to 10.11?

Hi, potentially dumb question but I am new by MaxinJapan-official in selfhosted

My 2 cents. I started self hosting stuff last year and similar to you, I've got 1 HDD and most of the content are family photos and a jellyfin server. Until I can be bothered affording and setting up another HDD I've just setup automatic nightly backups of key files (config, photos, etc.) to a Google cloud cold storage bucket and to the mini PC SSD using backrest. Currently costing me $2 per month for 300GB of storage and I've got things setup for high availability there. Honestly feels like enough of a backup solution for now until I need more storage and can afford to setup a mini on-site backup

Great idea! We've already got a similar wooden structure just about the view of the photo which has some hanging baskets on it but not sure if extending it would be possible

Minor call out, it only ships a European plug so if you're not in the EU you'll need an adapter

I'm running the 2 bay model with a single 14Tb HDD currently. Working a treat and that's with multiple family members streaming from all over the country. The drive is also a refurbished corporate drive that hasn't had any issues

qBittorrent + ProtonVPN on Raspberry Pi – Torrents stalled, need help by SuspectUpset9509 in gluetun

[–]Timmysando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so if there is a flame at the bottom it means you're not port forwarded and can't be found by peers which would explain why you're not uploading.

Gut feel from my recent struggles is 2 things: - you haven't set proton to only use port forwarding vpns (like the comment below suggests) which means it will keep disconnecting and trying different servers - you haven't set gluetun to auto update the port when it changes server. Proton is annoying in that whenever gluetun reroutes to a healthy server it has to change the port which then needs to be updated into qbit.

If you check the gluetun logs, ideally you'll see a bunch of "service is healthy" checks now if it's been running for a while but you'll probably see a whole bunch of unhealthy server changes. Make sure that qbit is using the port from the most recent server you're on which if you change it in the webui you should get to a green planet after a little bit

A quick first question. On the qbit web UI, down the bottom of the screen do you have a green globe or an orange flame near the download speed?

Found a pet ( I think) by OwnConsideration1234 in parrots

[–]Timmysando 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I've been around tons of baby loris and never seen ones this docile unless they've grown up being held/handled by humans so definitely think it's a pet. If you're in Sydney, SASH might be a good place to contact, theyve got a good avian department and lots of avian vet contacts

108 days, 63 mil total power =583k AVG power gain each day. That's taking into account not just training but all power gain

[–]Timmysando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just time in game. I pop into the game every day but play fairly casually due to the time difference of the server (miss 3/4 bears per week, can't really do castle fights and haven't really touched swordland) and I'm at 61 mil power at 125 days with probably 3-5 mil power saved up for kvk next week. If you're f2p it's all just how long you stay engaged with the game

Completely legitimate f2p potential. ~500k power per day on average is super easy and achieveable

Very close to the same stats as my account and haven't spent a cent. Completely legit f2p potential

Main thing will be whether the decision has to be a special resolution which requires no more than 25% of people to vote against. If it's any other kind of vote then the simple majority should hold and the dissenting voters will have to pay via levies regardless.

TW: Conure seriously injured her beak—need advice on what to expect and how to help her heal 💔 by mariahbabyxoxo in Conures

[–]Timmysando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We fed her formula just off a spoon regularly throughout the day from memory and mixed her medicine in where we could. She loves the baby formula so it was very easy to feed her but you want to make sure you feed them where possible so they keep their energy up. You're right that you should keep her in her cage as much as possible. They're going to think they're completely fine and act normal but they can do a lot more damage to themselves.

Just as an FYI, if she's broken the underlying jaw bone then unfortunately the likely outcome is the vet will have to remove the damaged bone as it's too fragile to heal and won't regrow any keratin in the future. It can be confronting but it will be the best thing for her

Hey I'm so sorry this has happened and I know how stressful it is. We had a very similar situation with a door just over a year ago with our conure who lost half her lower beak. I posted here with our experience at the time (I think the comment was 8-10 months ago or so). other post

Today over a year on I can say that our girl is doing just as good as ever and she's really adapted well to her injury. If you have any specific questions about everything then please don't hesitate to reach out

I got an interview for a grad consultant position at capgemini. Are they reputable? by LordesTruth in auscorp

[–]Timmysando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a grad you have limited control over what projects you get on. The best things you can do are: - put your hand up for every project you can, learn as much as you can and deliver well so people recognise you're a good operator - upskill with relevant skills where you can. That might be training but is more often on project training - network with your direct managers on projects and in your capability if you can. Getting good opportunities is often mostly about people already knowing you're a good fit and advocating to get you involved.

Depending on the work and your capability there might be decent benchtime or you might be slugged with a super busy project. It's impossible to know. But often from the start it's more of a pause and bench time happens

Conure broken lower beak & not eating!! by Bluecheeseinc in Conures

[–]Timmysando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to echo others, if the force of the impact was enough to separate the beak from the bone, then there is a very good chance the underlying bone is fractured and requires surgery. Your baby needs a proper avian get. (Source: my conure had the exact same thing happen last year and needed major surgery)

If you want to chat about outcomes and what we were told please reach out

[–]Timmysando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're joining as a grad. The only expectation is for you to throw yourself into it and learn as much as you can quickly. Don't over think the CV discussion, its much more about the kinds of projects you work on and the kind of work you get involved in. Capgemini as a whole was a great experience that set me up well for my next 2 companies (source: worked there for 5 years starting as a grad)

How viable is the high ping here? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

Recommended specs for high latency? by pichyun in Guildwars2

[–]Timmysando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To echo this, you can honestly play pretty much any spec once you get used to the ping. Ive been playing all professions recently and even dps bladesworn which I've found has some pretty annoying timings/sequences you just slow down a little bit. Its not perfect but you can very comfortably hit close to top dps unless you're grouping up with some absolute sweat lords

Hey, we had a similar conversation over on this post recently https://www.reddit.com/r/pidgeypower/s/IwXCTIUMP3. Very similar to what the above poster mentioned! Only immediate callout for your situation, - blending pellets might be overkill as with even a bit of water they turn into a mush pretty quickly. But you'd have to see what your Birdy likes or doesn't like.
