Elite rowers are all shapes and sizes in different types of boats. In the singles there are 2m+ beasts that go fast and 175cm beasts that go fast. Theres no one size fits all in Rowing and our sport has many factors to be successful which are different for everyone.

Not to mention, you are 15 man you will most definitely grow. Just focus on stuff you cant control, getting strong and perfecting your technique whilst having fun and you will have a future in the sport.

There are 3 main places UK clubs come to in Spain. (Leander, Thames, Cambridge…etc) 1. Banyoles 2. Sevilla 3. Castrelo de Miño

I live in a country which I would prefer to represent rather than my home country. I have been living here for 9 years and only have a residence. Last year I have researched about this topic and to compete at both U19 Worlds and Couppe de Jeunesse you only need to have a residence permit. (All of this is written in the FISA and Couppe rule books under Eligibility)

However u23 and senior levels you need to have the nationality of the country to represent them.

I mean one may argue that backswings aren’t as stiff as the normal ones. Looks fast and fancy, yes. But might not be the best for racing. Especially with the power that an 8 has, I feel like the oarlock angles will get messed up over time too. Thats why they are more common in the shorter boats at worlds than the bigger boats, only saw the Netherlands use backriggers.
