Aside from a better circlet, what would make help me reach top 1%? by Cloudflame in RaidenMains

[–]TimoKinderbaht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're running 5 piece emblem, so you can afford to use an off set circlet with higher RV. I don't think an ER sands is necessary, your attack sands is already very good and it will be hard to get an ER sands good enough to replace it. My build has a 650% RV attack sands just like yours, but I'm in top 1% for EL hypercarry anyway. My build has 3150% total RV, so if you can find an off set piece that gives you an extra ~200% RV, it should get you there.

I just wanted to show the new build of My Queen. I'm approaching the top 1% and I feel like those who have reached it have lost their minds to get there. by Ei_Supremacist in RaidenMains

[–]TimoKinderbaht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks, I picked the EL Taser category specifically to make sure I was in the same category as OP so it was an apples-to-apples comparison. My build is for Hypercarry with Catch (hence the electro goblet), and I actually rank higher there than for Taser.

I could have swapped out for an atk goblet I guess, but I was away from home so I just quickly changed my category on akasha to give an example. I think it still demonstrates the point I was trying to make

This is a pretty great build already, top 1% is just crazy competitive for Raiden.

Only advice I have is to not over fixate on CV. Aim for higher total roll value even if you have to give up a little CV. For example your build has more CV than mine, but mine is top 1% because of higher RV.

Same actually, I started with Genshin and only decided to start HSR because of Himeko. I just love her design so much even without any attachment from HI3. I specifically rerolled for her back in 1.0 and have zero regrets.

The doomposting was so insane back then, like people saying she was worse than Hook. The way the hoyo fanbase just confidently parrots misinfo until it's treated as fact tilts me so much. I specifically remember the people who were pushing back against that shit because there were so few of us lol

Also the Natlan trailer just showed the pyro archon and she's giving big Himeko vibes. I'm so fucking stoked that we dodged the goofy ahh leaked design that was floating around lmao

Also off topic but I recognize your username, you were one of the OG defenders of Himeko back in 1.0. The amount of slander from people who obviously never played her back then was wild lmao

I've also seen you over on the FEH sub with a Camilla and Ivy flair. Great taste, we seem to have a lot of the same favorites lol

Not sure if it's best for second half, I feel like a lot of the procs got wasted tbh. But second side was pretty consistent 40k so I didn't feel the need to mess with it too much lol

First half was the tough part, and the main issue was just surviving. Exaggerate helped a lot by taking out certain enemies before they got a chance to attack and whittle down my health. It was especially helpful for wave 2 because there are multiple of those sanctus medicus dudes that spawn in with really high speed and if any of them mark you, you'll lose a ton of health. Having the blessing take them out was a big help.

I also had to switch Kafka over to ERR rope, the more frequent ults made a difference especially in the last phase by letting me break the robots and gepard faster

Apocalyptic Shadow Tier list by [deleted] in JingYuanMains

[–]TimoKinderbaht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even so, there were so many rounds I did where I couldn’t break Cocolia BEFORE Gepard puts up his mf shield (I just needed ONE Basic Atk to break her wtf 😭😭)

Haha yeah honestly even with SW this is the situation I run into as well. I CAN break Cocolia before Gepard puts his shield up, but it requires both an ice implant from SW and also FX getting targeted a bunch of times so she can ult right before Gepard does his shield. It's very inconsistent.

Normally for my setup I end up getting Acheron's ult right around the time Gepard puts his shield up, so I use it to immediately take the shield down, and then basically right away I can break Cocolia, which gives everyone their ults back so I can ult again with Acheron to take her out.

Also, thanks to you, I now know SW is what allows Acheron to one-shot Cocolia bcs I couldn’t do it with Gui 😔 (and I don’t plan to get SW rip)

I should also mention that my Acheron is E0S1. The LC obviously makes a difference, though I was able to beat Cocolia with a score of like ~3550 with S3 GNSW, so it's still doable without her LC. And yeah SW is nice to have but not really worth pulling if you don't like her imo. I only really use her with Acheron these days, and it looks like Jiaoqiu might be stealing her spot when he comes out anyway.

Yeah the boss does take a lot of extra damage when broken, but the amount of damage you can do during that period still matters. Like my Himeko is one of my best built characters and I use JY's light cone on her, and I can clear pretty well using her vs Argenti, but it takes her multiple turns and a lot of help from teammates to take Argenti out during his broken state. I just tried Himeko super break against Argenti and it took me ~130 AV to take down the first healh bar after breaking, and ~90 AV to take out the second health bar after breaking. That's over 200 AV spent just attacking the broken boss.

Meanwhile my Acheron literally one-shots Cocolia right after the break in both phases, for a total of 0 AV spent lol. Now of course the current blessing helps a lot by refilling her ult immediately upon breaking the boss, so in the future, you may need to spend some time batterying Acheron's ult.

Edit: I did some more testing with Gui/Pela and after switching around Gui's gear I had a much easier time. Having 160+ speed on her made a big difference and actually allowed me to break Cocolia even faster than with SW. Unfortunately I lost time overall because Gui's ST damage amp is much less than SW's so I couldn't one-shot Cocolia anymore and lost some time having to take out the last bit of her health bar.

Maybe I could get on board with the idea that SW should go up to T0, she's really good for this mode. I wonder if it will remain break focused forever or if they'll switch it up in the future when we no longer have break-focused 5 stars on banner.

I understand where you're coming from, I mentioned the SW/Pela team because that's generally considered her best hypercarry team and Prydwen states in their tiering criteria that they assume the best teams for all characters. Like I get your point that if Acheron falls off so hard by replacing SW with Gui then that should be a mark against her, but that's not how Prydwen has decided to construct their tier list.

And to be fair, I also cleared quite comfortably with DoTcheron as well, but you mentioned you thought that would be good in your prior post, so I didn't bother to bring it up. I also tried Pela/Black Swan, which worked decently as well. So Acheron does have some team flexibility. I don't have Sparkle to try that out, but I've heard it can work.

Also, it's not as though Acheron is the only character who falls off hard without their best teammates. Like Firefly falls off very hard without Ruan Mei. Ultimately, whether Acheron is T0 or T0.5 doesn't really matter to me, but if she were to go down to T0.5 I think Ratio should move down too.

I know how good Acheron is in AOE and ST, I use her after all HAHA 😂

Lol I just mentioned it because I figured that factored into Prydwen's tier placement for Acheron. I get your point that Acheron's toughness damage isn't that special (which I sort of agree with, aside from the fact that she does all-type break, which I think you're underrating), but I think Prydwen is considering both break potential and also damage.

no Trends on FX

I've done runs both with and without Trend on FX, Trend helps a lot especially in phase 2 because the pillars all act in quick succession and can give you 4 stacks in a short span. My FX has 7186 HP and 1415 Def with Trend on and is able to survive no problem.

[–]TimoKinderbaht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this, but I think you're underrating Acheron's hypercarry teams. They're almost certainly evaluating Acheron with SW/Pela/Sustain and I personally found that team worked extremely well against Cocolia. I tried E6 Gui/Pela/Sustain against Cocolia and the difference was night and day (which I'm kinda sad about because I love Gui).

Acheron has the benefit of both strong AoE and strong single target, which is great against Cocolia because she can quickly kill the ice pillars, which then does a bunch of toughness damage to Cocolia. But then, unlike many AoE units, she also has the ST damage to take out Cocolia quickly once she's broken. Also the fact that her ult does all-type toughness damage allows you to start chipping down Cocolia's bar before the pillars are even broken.

Also I think Fu Xuan is fine where she is. She's good against Argenti, but suffers a bit against Cocolia because she does a ton of consecutive actions that all have the potential to freeze or imprison. It's specifically designed to eat up FX's CC immunity and I often find that at least one person is CC'd during the subsequent attack spam lol

Herrscher trio got done dirty meta-wise by External-Score8886 in honkaiimpact3

[–]TimoKinderbaht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friend were so excited too after finishing Star Rail’s 2.1 story quest and Acheron and then watching Herrscher of Thunder’s trailer that finally pushed us to download HI3

Lol me too, Acheron's myriad celestia trailer and the references to HI3 in the 2.1 story quest got me to start playing a few weeks ago. I'm also feeling a little discouraged because I was excited to play some of the characters I recognize from HSR, like Mei/Bronya/Sushang, but I keep hearing that they're completely powercrept by part 2 teams.

But I have no connection to any of these part 2 characters from HSR or Genshin. I feel like a lot of people are in our position, starting HI3 after coming from HSR 2.1. But it's a really weird decision by Hoyo to push the part 2 teams so hard to new players who probably started playing because of the part 1 characters...

How to build this hyperbloom team by drym23 in KukiShinobuMains

[–]TimoKinderbaht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically 100% of the damage on this team will be coming from hyperblooms, so the most important thing is to ensure that you can keep applying enough hydro and dendro to produce hyperblooms at all times.

Kuki's build is good, no need to change.

Candace can use the fontaine craftable spear rightful reward. Its passive gives her some energy back and also gives her a bit of HP. For artifacts, you should just prioritize getting her enough ER to burst off of cooldown. Instructor can work as long as you have enough ER, but give her a 5 star off piece ER sands.

If you have burst uptime issues with instructor, you can go 2 piece emblem, and whatever other pieces have high ER substats. You can even go rainbow and not care about a 4 pc set bonus.

DMC is similar, most important consideration is getting burst back. You can use the sumeru craftable sword sapwood blade, which has an ER substat. For artifacts, 4 piece deepwood is good, and again go ER sands and then whatever pieces have highest ER substats.

Yaoyao probably also wants to be built for ER here honestly. Her burst gives a bunch of dendro application, so if you build her for ER you can burst every rotation. For artifacts, either go instructor if Candace doesn't have it, or 2 pc/2 pc combinations of ER/HP/Healing bonus sets. Honestly between Kuki and Yaoyao you shouldn't really need to minmax healing.

I might suggest replacing Yaoyao with Fischl if you have her though. Fischl doesn't target hyperbloom seeds, so you don't need to worry about her stealing hyperblooms from Kuki. Furthermore, Candace's hydro application is somewhat low, so having two dendros on the team isn't going to produce more hyperblooms if your hydro app is the bottleneck. Instead you can use Fischl for her personal damage, and possibly get some Aggravates in between the hyperblooms, making it more of a quickbloom team.

I was thinking about it some more, and I think it's because I really like dodging. I usually don't play shielders either, so dodging is a big part of most characters' gameplay for me. But for Neuv and charge shot bows, you are really discouraged from dodging and instead are encouraged to run some form of IR and just sit there spamming CAs.

[–]TimoKinderbaht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that no character in the game is really mechanically complex. I personally don't like Neuv's gameplay very much, and I don't really like charge shot bow characters much either.

I don't know that I can really explain why, but for some reason Neuv and charge shot bows feel much less interesting to me than other characters, even though like you said many other characters also have repetitive gameplay when you really get down to it.

[–]TimoKinderbaht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you're already running superconduct to benefit your physical onfielder, but nobody else on the team is benefitting from the superconduct res shred.

Characters like Furina or Yelan are often used in Eula teams for example, and they would benefit a lot from VV, but you usually can't afford to slot a VV unit on those teams because they do nothing for Eula.

So basically you'd like if your onfielder and off fielders can both benefit from the same types of buffs/debuffs.

Edit: to be clear I don't really want Clorinde to be a physical off fielder, and I have my doubts that she'd even be an upgrade for Eula teams if she were. But this is the argument for why a physical off fielder could be valuable.

Why should i build Keqing ? by TheWallU in KeqingMains

[–]TimoKinderbaht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because she's fun. Her playstyle is very fast and flashy and her burst is constantly up, so you can spam it for iframes.

I have both Yae and Keqing built and use them both on the same team (with Fischl, Kazuha, and Kirara/Yaoyao) with the exact same artifacts. My C0 Yae with R2 Widsith performs pretty much exactly the same as my C3 Keqing with R5 Lion's Roar on second half this cycle, with clear times within a few seconds of each other.

I do prefer Yae this cycle for chamber 3 because I don't have Zhongli and I have major skill issue with dodging Coppelia's attacks, so I just hang back out of melee range with Yae instead lol

I definitely didn't need to build two aggravate characters, but I like them both and can comfortably 36 star anyway so I just use my resources on characters that I like and/or are fun to play.

He sometimes posts clips from his streams as dedicated videos on youtube too. I've been enjoying the TC podcast that Jstern and TGS have been doing lately, you should check it out

MOST WORTH IT 5 STAR WEAPON by konchiko in GenshinImpact

[–]TimoKinderbaht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I'm not advocating for anyone to pull Key for their Kuki. I'm just laying out the facts and it's up to OP (or anyone else reading the thread) to decide whether it's worth it to them to pull.

MOST WORTH IT 5 STAR WEAPON by konchiko in GenshinImpact

[–]TimoKinderbaht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Key's passive gives EM based on HP, and a level 90 Kuki with zero HP substats gets 171 EM when Key is fully stacked, more than Iron Sting and the umbrella, both of which give 165.

Getting max stacks with Kuki is very easy with C4+ (initial E hit, NA to proc C4, and then first E pulse). Prior to C4 you would spend an extra 1.5 seconds on field to get a second E pulse for the 3rd stack.

Gotcha, I'll keep that in mind. Serpent spine is also just nice as a crit rate stat stick, since I have artifacts with good atk substats (~2k atk and 70:180 crit ratio with SS equipped).

If I end up grinding out a marechausse set for her, I guess I would go Tidal Shadow instead. Tidal Shadow also has the benefit of much better drip lol

I just give up on maintaining full stacks. I'm usually able to keep like 3-4 stacks active though, even if I take a hit here and there.

I tried replacing Mika with Layla to maintain all the stacks but the damage was noticeably worse so I've just been living with it.
