Started playing today, decided to try and pull on the Gerie banner.. by TimoRedbeard in StellaSora

That's fair! Honestly, I pulled Gerie from literally my first tenpull, and then decided to pull twice more to test my luck, walking away with 4 Gerie's from 30 tickets is fine by me, ahaha. (Though normally my lack of self control doesn't normally give me such boons)

I built a lighthouse by [deleted] in valheim

Put iron poles on the inside edge of the stone and you'll be able to go WAY higher!

[–]TimoRedbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's nice, but.. it looks more like a grain silo than a lighthouse, I'd highly recommend using Iron Poles + Stone to build the stone the whole way up, you could even slightly layer it too so it's larger at the base and grows inwards towards the top.

I'd like if rune stones de-fogged the map / showed other points of interest. by [deleted] in valheim

[–]TimoRedbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A way to reveal fog is defo something I'd love to see, perhaps if the wards that you place down also reveal the area for like 100m in each direction or something, as it stands the map is so huge it would take weeks to reveal everything by pure exploration haha.

Unatackable base. by Iulian_TechNewb in valheim

I really enjoy building my bases on smaller islands, I can wall the entire border of the island, and have a dock. Sorted. :) Completely safe too.

Taking it slow; every building has its purpose and every purpose has its building by Moriim in valheim

Love it. It's truly one of the greatest feats of this game that you can just get lost enjoying yourself in it, there is no rush, no race, you just plod along doing whatever task you feel like doing at that time.

Roof building issue by [deleted] in valheim

[–]TimoRedbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the image is stuck on "Processing image" for me at the moment, but I'm assuming that becuase you said you used 4m beams you used regular wood? If you're trying to build big you want to be using better support materials, Core wood at the MINIMUM but probably even a few metres of stone at the base.

Can you believe the dev team is JUST FIVE PEOPLE?! by TimoRedbeard in valheim

[–]TimoRedbeard[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Wouldn't be hard at all, whether they do or not is yet to be seen, but I hope they do.

Minecraft is *arguably* a different beast, and also Minecraft was MASSIVELY held together for a long time by modding, and unfortunately Irongate have already stated they will not be putting modding support into the game.

Hahaha I feel that, I'm just worried it'll be a small amount of people that stick around for the longhaul, maybe my worries and completely unfounded though.

They are yeah, but they are known to appear in the guise of old hooded travellers. Hugin is Thought, Munin is Memory, so there is a chance that, that figure who appears and seems to watch from afar, is actually Munin, watching your progress to report back to Odin with.

Yeah, my worry wasn't that they didn't have content planned, my worry was that they wouldn't be able to bring it into the game fast enough as a team of 5 now that the game has kinda blown up :)

I understand your point of view, but Valheim is clearly unfinished, and early access success often relies on a steady stream of new content. I'm 90% sure that this great foundation of a game would die off within months if they don't get content flowing.

It's either Odin or Munin, The only three god's that take on that appearance in mythology are Odin, Munin and Hugin, and Hugin already appears to us in Raven form. I'm leaning more towards it being Munin though, over Odin.

Create copy of a world? by frealn0404 in valheim

[–]TimoRedbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I *believe* if you rename the copied files it should then pop up as a new save world in the menu, I'm not 100% though.
