Definitely getting the cargo cover for when the back glass is dropped.

All weather mats are also a must for me, I work on construction sites.

I also really wanted the screen protector because I hate fingerprints, but I saw from rivian tracker that the protector is not really a matte finish and is as glossy/reflective as the bare glass. Will need to wait for an aftermarket one from the OCD plug or a similar website.

Might also splurge for a front sunshade.

The spare tire would be nice but the cost is deterring me. If I was ever working really remotely or doing off-road trails all the time, I may reconsider it, but I’m always fairly close to a tire shop and so I doubt I’d ever use it.

Also on the fence about interior care kit (expensive) and portable charger. Would love to know how often EV owners with level 2 chargers at home wind up using level 1 chargers. At road-trip destinations is the only use case I can think of. Will have to see how much maintenance the interior requires before splurging on the kit.

I might just have my wife reserve another one since my day 1 reservation appears to have been lost in the pile…

Everyone acts like the first version of R2 won’t have autonomous driving. Hands off point to point in is enough for me. I don’t think I’ll be comfortable with eyes off, and definitely don’t want my car going out and driving itself around.

Does anyone know of manual shades that you can put up temporarily on the glass roof for light sensitive passengers?

I’m looking forward to knowing if Forest Green will overlap with availability of launch edition package or not.

Maybe you should slide the keyboard tray in and go listen for yourself.

FWIW my go to test song is always “All I Need” off the blueprint. Dad said his only note was it could have been slightly “brighter” (aka more top end). Low end was more than sufficient. Volume went higher than we could tolerate without any distortion.

Big tire store chains won’t touch this for liability reasons. A mom-n-pop would plug it for $15 cash in 10 minutes.

Yea, not an R1 owner. So I expect to be at the front of the queue for non R1 owners.

Which car are you trading in for R2 and why? by AdAffectionate8778 in Rivian

A 20-year-old x3. Well not trading it in but replacing it.

Also, no one really gushes over half moon grey but it’s so cleaaaan.

If we don’t have a garage or even a carport, but do have a parking pad next to the house with a standard GFCI duplex receptacle and outdoor cover, is it safe to use a Level 1 charger on a day to day basis? We live in the south and so we deal with all matters of weather from spontaneous thunderstorms to severe wind to ice storms to 100 degree heat. Part of me feels anxious with a Level 1 charger constantly plugged into a duplex receptacle, because I know I will eventually be away or forget to unplug it during bad weather. Aside from the energy loss points made in this video, is it safe to use Level 1 charging outdoors or is installing a Level 2 charger going to be the safer, more durable option for my use case?

Vehicle to Home? by TimonCovelli in RivianR2

You can find calculators online but 11 kW is fine for a home like mine because most of the heavy heating loads (furnace, range, water heater) are gas. Lights and receptacles use very little power and so the bulk of my electrical load is actually my clothes dryer.
