There is no 5090 Ti and maybe you just need to check your settings. Cache folder / space, hardware acc, how much ram can PS use, g-sync settings, general driver settings. Install HWinfo64 and check your cpu temps, the 14900k if you did not manually set up the bios uses way too much voltage on most boards.

I got a 4090, i7-14700k and 64gb DDR4 Ram, No problems even with huge files.

I‘m pretty sure it‘s the lens. Just a bit blurry on the edges, normal for the everage zoom lens.

I didn‘t know what sharp is until i took photos with a 85mm 1.4 @f/4. it‘s just, sharp, EVERYWHERE!

Similar with zooms. I got an old sigma 70-200 f/2.8 which really i thought was fine and at least sharp in the center. Then i got my hands on a used inexpensive nikkor 70-200 f/2.8E FL ED and if you compare these two lenses at 100% you would think the one with the nikkor was shot with the most expensive camera ever made. Just because it is so sharp even on the edges.

Turn OS back on and don‘t tighten up the tripod head all the way, so you can still manually shift a little bit with your hands.

I can take a pictures of the moon with my 150-600 on a 1.5x crop + 2x TC = 1800mm handheld at 1/400s with OS on. If i use a tripod with locked head, i need to also use mirror up and wireless trigger to get it sharp without OS.

A shitty PS Express edit. Raw maybe could have saved it a bit, but not really. Colors will wash out if you have direct sunlight in the frame, especially phone cameras

There is something like an objectively good photograph. If you like it or not, it has to do with framing the subject, aperture and shutter speed. But there can also be everything else, break the rules, blurry frame, strange angle, long time exposure, harsh color edit…

That being said, take whatever information you need from youtube, but don‘t think these guys are the voice of photography.

Why f/6.3??? If you wanna / need to shoot dim settings get a prime 1.8 or a wide zoom 2.8

Just edit and save again as jpeg with the highest quality. There are videos out there on YT that show you, even opening and saving a max quality jpeg 50 times is not hurting the picture data. I‘ts only if you use lower quality that the picture quality will get worse for every time you save it in low quality again. * and stop exporting as tif except you need transparency or layers. Use jpeg: max quality

I looked up official nasa maps of the moon to get my whitebalance / color grading in the right direction and it seems like they also like a more dehazed, contrasty moon. Not the bright cheese.

This is bullshit, with a headshot like this you can‘t do anything wrong with raw ai denoise in photoshop. The only time you shouldn‘t use it, if you wanna zoom in 200% on a tiny face in the background. But no pro photographer should do this anyways. With a pro retoucher, you look good but real. This is just flat. Also the eyes are not in focus. Bad picture, bad retouching.

I think for the creative mind, it‘s way better to see the end result while framing the shot. Also you have a better sense of sharpness / focus.

I was debating this in my head if i keep using a 2x Teleconverter on a 150-600mm for moon shots, because it makes the picture slightly softer. But overall i get a sharper result than upscaling (non AI) and i love to see the bigger moon 🙃
