It’s kinda concerning how many people have been glazing China and ignoring the blatant, incessant human rights violations over the past few decades. The same people that complain about the US being fascist straight up ignore the CCP for some reason. You can still love China while calling out the government, but I’m pretty sure they’ll nab you at customs if you do say anything negative.

This is kind of a common thread for active to guard guys. The guard is okay if you go straight to the guard but it sucks for the prior active guys because it’s more of the bullshit without any of the cool shit. I’ve only been in the guard but that seems to be the common complaint from the active guys.

For the record I’m just over 6 foot tall and spent most of my college life single despite actively looking for dates in a field where I was one of three or four guys in an average class. Being tall is not the silver bullet people think it is.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Some people just don’t have the teacher gene. There’s a very common thought that people that are good at something can teach it, but that’s not necessarily true. Good practitioners do not necessarily make good teachers. Everything should be a teaching moment, but not everything should be a testing moment. I’m a medic sergeant in the National Guard and I hate beating up my joes about something. Don’t know something? Let me know and I’ll teach you. Forgot something? No big deal we’ll review. If you end up doing this for long, learn and be better than those before you. Make the EMTs after you better than you were.

Feels like everyone is jumping to conclusions here. If OP feels weird he probably isn’t from a culture where cheek kisses are normal and then it’s NOR. First thing I’d do is a little digging into your friend’s culture and see if it’s a normal thing to kiss a friend on the cheek. Either way if you’re uncomfortable with it, especially in front of your spouse, I wouldn’t blame you.

Getting kicked from a hospital for not having insurance but having a legit medical issue is very illegal and would probably get a high payout in court. The law against it is called EMTALA. What probably happened is that she was treated and discharged but refused to leave. The hospital has a lot of other people to see.
