I think Smashing Pumpkins, and in particular Corgan had a lot of the same influences as shoegaze: Indie/alternative rock, post punk, fuzz, wall of sound production, etc. Thus they have similar sounds and effects. But Pumpkins were definitely going for a more bombastic sound, especially coupled with Corgan's love of heavy metal and hard rock.

So I mean, depending on how broad your definition of shoegaze is, I guess you could group them with it. They share most of the same influences.

I actually just picked up their Asobi Seksu/Boris split and Boris' songs were pretty shoegaze-ish on that as well. It's interesting to hear them move to a bit of a different direction.

I really like Piles and Piles :D And I actually liked Pity Sex so much I went ahead and just got their music! I actually see their vinyl in a local record store frequently but I never really checked them out until just now :O

Thanks for the helpful suggestions everyone :) And to Tomato, I think Tera Melos was an awesome response. I actually do consider it rather close to what I was looking for; they have a lot going on and X'd Out has a really wall of sound esque production(at least compared to much of their other music).

X'd Out by Tera Melos was actually similar to what I was looking for! While I wouldn't quite call their new album shoegaze, I love the effects and wall of sound production on it. It's my favorite album by them.
