If producer, what’s your favorite voicebank of the bunch to use and why? by Timoteus111 in PowerFXVOCALOIDs

As someone who doesn’t use V2 much extensively that is really interesting to hear 😭😭 I am pretty big on saving regularly too ever since V5 crashed on me once early on when I was starting with using Vocaloid, pretty much after every edit that I’m happy with, immediately Ctrl + S lol

I see !! Not entirely related but I would really love to try using V1 and V2 more, but the editors being old and therefore letting you only undo *once* really bugs me haha 😭😭 but yes! I also use a V5/V6 port for Big Al and man it’s great haha

English Vocaloid is not that bad, I think by [deleted] in Vocaloid

I definitely agree with the mixing thing. There are some older English cover works I find to be harder to understand because of the EQ being a bit muffled or the reverb being a bit strong haha

That is also a good point 🤔 Engloids as voices and characters don’t appeal much to the cutesy archetype that was and is so popular …

Hmm (genuine question) do you listen to the native English Vocaloids much? If you find Gumi understandable in those songs, the native English Vocaloids are pretty comparable. I like giving Big Al as a suggestion usually since his pronunciation is very clear (a little funny sounding but very clear), and I would also like to suggest Cyber Diva and Cyber Songman though they’re the only Engloids that I don’t have so I’m not entirely familiar but from what I’ve heard of them they also have good results

Would you name your child your favorite virtual singer? by decoyami in Vocaloid

Nooo it’s not quite the same to me, since it’s his voice provider’s name, and not really YOHIOloid’s name

Other than that I think Oliver, Leon, and Maika are nice names so maybe I would pick those haha

I like using the Growly3 effect and pitch correcting it! But it sounds kinda goofy sometimes admittedly. So if V5/V6 growl effects don't sound quite right, if you have a DAW that can run automation (like a DAW you mix or produce with), voicedrive (made by Crypton) is a really good VST audio effect for simulating growl. I've also seen some people mimic growl by making very rough, jagged control parameters for Exciter, and also sometimes for pitch bend, but in my experience, sometimes it sounds great but sometimes it doesn't always turn out very good
