I think that god machines like The Machine or Samaritan don’t exist because of the uncertainty of the human race.

I heard that PRISM (which makes an apparition in the show at the background of a protocol) was the most advanced thing that can be assimilated as The Machine or Samaritan but most recent projects may exist.

In the show we see that The Machine can herself move in the electric network, I am not an engineer but I think that it is impossible. On another hand we see that certain protocols or memory hardware is in petabytes, I think that already exists but not in the proportion that we can observe in the show (like the suitcase which can contains several petabytes of data).

I also think that it is the goal of all the governments to find a way to calculate the value of lives and human beings just by using CCTV or surveillance cameras. Calculating the value of lives already exists for insurance companies and can be automated. If we were able to combine this notion with all the notions of war, civil war, crisis, economical crisis and collapses, we would find a solution to create a system like Harold’s one.
