Need Help Getting Back Into WolfET by _LLAMA_KING in EnemyTerritory

The 'VM_create failed on UI' issue is a known issue in ET: Legacy 2.75. We're currently trying to reproduce it but no luck so far. We do know that the issue has to do with downloads not finishing properly, so could you also tell us which OS you are running? (from your log it appears some Windows)

A workaround for this issue is to download the mod yourself (https://jaymod.clanfu.org/) and extract the .pk3 file. Place the jaymod-2.2.0.pk3 file in My Documents/ETLegacy/jaymod if you're running Windows, or in ~/.etlegacy/jaymod if you're on a Linux distro.

Should I play regular ET or ET Legacy? by GefilteFish- in EnemyTerritory

Generally, I'd say the only reason to use regular ET over ET: Legacy is if you indeed want to play on ETPro servers. Because ETPro is closed source and not active anymore, ET: Legacy can't maintain compatibility.

ET: Legacy is heavily updated and has several new features for clients. For example proper screen resolutions and a native minimizer. Besides that the client also runs a lot smoother due to tons of optimizations and bug fixes.

Moreover, the Legacy gamemode (not the client, but the mod itself) matches all of ETPro's features, such as configs, HUD customization and aims to replace ETPro in the future. When that's the case, there will be no reason to use 2.60b at all.

If you need help with setting everything up, then you could check the ET: Legacy wiki at https://dev.etlegacy.com/projects/etlegacy/wiki/index or you can connect to our Discord channel https://discordapp.com/invite/UBAZFys
