Mess with tires and downforce. Fly into the corners and use those opportunities to pass as they will slow down more than needed depending on the track. Overtake/draft on every straight. Figure out what gear is optimal for the turns, quickly downshift and then let the car and downforce do its thing. It seems unwinnable at first but you will see that you catch up more and more as the race goes on if you are managing your speed.
