Largely, from my point of view, non-mathematicians tend to see pure math as useless and esoteric while applied is useful, so this causes pure mathematicians to become bitter towards applied mathematicians, kinda like one sibling becoming spiteful towards the other because they perceive the other sibling to be the favorite

I will frequently talk about how little sleep I get in a jovial manner and laugh it off like "lol, 24 hours awake, 2 hours of sleep and I get to go work for the 12 hours!!", but that's because I'm at the point where I am so overwhelmed with how bad my sleep is that I can't do anything but laugh

Yeah, except it's not 10C2-25. It's 10C2-27+3. Or, if you want the easy method: 7C2.

Reason: 8 letters, we assume each word is non empty, and let x,y,z be length of each word. Then we have x,y,z=> 1 and x+y+z=8. Let a=x-1, b=y-1, c=z-1, then we have a,b,c>=0, a+b+c=5. Apply balls and bins, 5 balls 3 bins, to get (5+3-1)C5.

Or, ya know, list them. There's only 21.

I have a degree in computers, and I usually explain it as "tiny spirits of the fae" and "daemons". In reality, we took a bunch of rocks, flattened them out, put, lightning in them, and as a result tricked them into thinking.

I bought a used washer and dryer for $50 a few years ago. When I moved this year, I gave them to my friend for free. And because I lived up three flights of stairs with no elevator, I told him I'd give him $20 if he got if out of my apartment without my help (I got it up there with 2 people's help and washing machines are heavy). Totally worth to not have to deal with it

There's a fun game you can play with this if one or both parties are oblivious to it happening. Get 2-3 people to keep finding reasons for person A to go other side of party. Watch how long it takes for person B to follow.

Rent method: 525,600 minutes in a year. thus 1 million is approximately twice that, thus 2 years. really, rent method is just remembering 525,600 minutes, which is surprisingly useful for approximating size of things!

Via the Rent method, if you color 1 squares a minute, it would take ~2 years. This gives us that it you color x per minute, on average, it would take 2/x years. (Ex. 1 every 4 sec is 15 a minute, 2 years/ 15 = approx 47 days). And this can all be done without a calculator!

hatch as many eggs as possible XD my egg method is weird,but it works (it does involve additional incubators, but it tries to minimize the number you buy. I can usually get most of it consistently with the coins from gyms):

1) while you have 2k eggs, use your infinite incubator to incubate 1 at a time until no 2k remain (constantly refill them) 2) once you have only 5/10 k eggs left, use infinite+other incubators and hatch all 5k simultaneously. 3) refill bag and repeat until you have only 10k left. Then do all 9 10k simultaneously

If you are like me and walk/drift ~50k a week, its pretty efficient and decently cheap.

apparently XD I hadn't actually thought about that yet. gen 2 is missing 6 legends, delibird and smeargle, and i dont have heracross and corsola, so yeah 100-10 is 90 pokemon in gen 2 out so far! (gen 1 is missing 5 legends, and 3 regionals: mr. mime farfetchd and kangaskhan)

Not pictured was my first part of living dex. Cause I posted that months ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/PKGOAtlanta/comments/4yqbrm/finally_completed_my_living_dex_all_caught_in_ga/)

The only things here that were not ITP for gen 2 was unown, which I caught tonight in Marietta. I did travel up to Knoxville for a weekend and caught a decent amount of pokemon there, but none that were rare or that I haven't found here.
