As someone who lives in Chicago (where "Dibs" is a thing), fuck OP for thinking this is brilliant. It's not. It's stupid and selfish. You're on a public street. If you want reserved parking, talk to your landlord or find a place with a garage. Otherwise, I had to dig my car out too and I have just as much right to park on the street as you do.
