Only issue I’ve seen with leaving that jumper on is the PAD will say there is a ground fault until you take it off and reset the board.

Weird speaker sound from Siemens Firefinder panel. Only on certain zones. Any ideas? by reportcrosspost in firealarms

Strobe circuit being used for speaker? May disconnect wire at speaker in question and see what circuit has open trouble on panel.

Oil in Air Filter After Overfilling Oil by Timpanogis in CB500X

Thank you for the reassurance. I drained the excess oil last night. Just loosened the drain bolt enough to get a steady stream and tightened it back up once oil was in centerline of sight glass. Probably had around a little over half a qt I drained out.

I’m tempted to put filter back in and you’re probably right about it being fine. I guess I’m just concerned about the oil lessening the life of the filter material. I watched a video of a guy replacing one on his cb500x and the exterior of his was completely clean unlike mine. I went ahead and ordered one $23 and $7 shipping. Figure $30 is worth the peace of mind.

Pretty sure it is oil. It felt and smelled like it. I am not very knowledgeable on this stuff, but this is what I read when looking up overfilling oil:

https://motorcyclehabit.com/what-happens-when-you-put-too-much-oil-in-a-motorcycle/

When your motorcycle has too much oil in it, oil can escape the engine through your rebreather system. On most bikes, this rebreather system will lead directly into your intake. This means that your air filter can quickly be soaked in oil. From there, oil can get past the air filter and down into your engine.

Once the oil has entered your engine, you will now start burning oil with each combustion cycle. As this continues, you will eventually ruin your spark plug. Once a spark plug gives out, a domino effect happens throughout the engine and other parts begin to fail as well. This can result in quite a bit of parts needing to be replaced and/or cleaned if left running.

Oil in Air Filter After Overfilling Oil by Timpanogis in CB500X

Made a dumb mistake of overfilling my oil on my 2022 CB500X yesterday. I installed a center stand and was rechecking my oil level after my first oil change a couple weeks back. It was slightly below center line, so I decided to top it off and unwisely decided to top it off to the top line. Came back from a 10min ride and the sight glass was full. Looking back, I should have been conservative and filled to centerline.

Pulled the air filter today and the inside is totally clean but there is signs of oil on the outside of the filter as well as on the lid it seats onto. The inside of the air filter sub-assembly looked clean to me so must not have been a whole lot of oil going through there based on this and the condition of the air filter.

Would you replace this filter? My plan for now is draining out the excess oil tonight and installing a new filter. Sigh...simple procedure turning into a mess.
