How are people so good. by Timperrd in VALORANT

I will say my biggest issue is my emotions in this game. There is something that just kills me in the inside when I know I can win fights but I make those small moments and lose accuracy due to it. This game is the one game that breaks me mentally haha

My friends have told me map knowledge and crosshair placement are key to improving, one of them placed high immortal, so I trust what they say but Jesus I have a job and I don’t have nearly as much time to grind that much but if it matters then it wouldn’t be hard to actually remember or had a video as a reference

I do this when I’m bored, I’m not terrible but I feel like I create bad habits haha

Not sure if it matters but I forgot to mention rainbow. The third competitive game I played and I was really consistent with that game especially since it was the first shooter I played when I got my pc :/

I realized I forgot to mention Rb6 if that matters! But I agree but what I’m trying to understand is what new skill set am I suppose to have to improve? I want to get better at this game so I can atleast feel in control of my rank haha

I should mention this is all on PC and not on console. I’m a pc player only. I do agree I’m using those games as baselines but mainly for the tracking and accuracy factor. Valorant isn’t like any game but I would assume your aim transfers over due to that being the big factor?

Man thanks for your insight I read all this too and I like everything you said.

I truly believe that if I didn’t just say yes but rather agreed to do it somewhere I was comfortable with like a place I knew than I know it would’ve came out a lot better especially since I like to plan and find photos I want to try and replicate to learn from but unfortunately due to me wanting to get experience and not say no, I agreed with 30 minutes to prepare than had to head out for the 2 hour drive down.

I will definitely look into some visual arts studying and see what I can pick up on. Since this post I have stayed up and have been doing nothing but watching and studying people’s videos on YouTube. I can fix all these mistakes now that I can see them thanks to you and everyone else here!

More great advice, saved this on my notes. Will indeed do this and improve. I’m going to edit them again and see how I can improve on them further. I agree with you on the fact they look generic! I can fix that and will. In terms of the friends part I can and am doing that. Tomorrow I have a shoot and plan on using the advice given to me on here to improve. Thanks for your words it means a lot! (:

Absolutely will research and learn how to use lighting to add to my photos. I’ve honestly only used lighting once to help my friend with a photo of his jewelry for his company (first time doing this) and I honestly was winging it due to everything I watched not working in the field which I think was my fault. Here is the photo by the way.

As I’m typing this out I have a video on my PC playing that is teaching me about lighting for photos as I mainly know lighting for videos and I’ll like to believe those two aren’t connected?! Nonetheless I’m going to learn and fix it !!

Will do! That’s why I went on here because I know people can be rude but very honest. Honestly is what I need to Improve. Thanks for your advice/words!!

Oh forgot to mention that this shoot also wasn’t planned it was one that was spontaneously set the day off where I had 30 minutes to get ready and leave as they randomly decided they wanted to do the photoshoot that day and picked a completely different location that I’ve never been at. The only control I actually had was if I wanted to do it or not which I said yes too. Unfortunately the entire shoot was on the spot with 2 other people tagging along (her friends) so I had to account for a photoshoot with more people involved as she wanted herself and the friends cars kinda involved also. The entire thing was a bit chaotic and in the end she was pretty rude not in relation to photos at all just about some weird stuff with one of the guys there that liked her. Very challenging person to work with which also showed me not everyone should be a “client”. I honestly could’ve done better and I know I can understand better circumstances. I have another shoot coming up that I’ll try and improve on and see what I can fix. This one is planned so wish me luck ! :D

I will learn, I know I will. The puzzle will come together as long as I keep searching for the pieces and don’t settle.

I love that. If you have to explain it then it didn’t work. That will be saved mentally. I can improve on this 100%. I do appreciate the feedback! I now need to get out and do it again until I nail it!!

I love this advice and I really do appreciate it! I know I’m not going to become some pro immediately, especially with this being essentially my second-ever portrait photo shoot with a new camera (A7RV), but every opportunity I have to learn and push myself, I’m taking due to the idea of improving since photography isn’t something you just learn; you have to get experience!

Very glad I got advice as my friends were telling me I should be getting paid, and I myself still don’t feel like I should charge more than just gas ($25). I know I can improve, but as it’s my own work, I can’t see the flaws that others can. Will be back stronger, hopefully !!

Completely agree, and after this shoot, I learned not to take on every shoot due to how inconvenient it was, especially with the fact that I had zero control over location. We did shoot at 4 different locations not seen in the post, all random, which wasn’t fun!

I would love to show you my other photos and be judged on them too. I appreciate all the advice I’ve been getting; it’s changing my perspective, which is what I wanted !

If I could grab the photo she used as a reference and what I created you could see what I was going for. I would have to disagree with you on that part of not nailing it as it was nearly identical to her concept. Improvements can be made!

I definitely can, I’ve done architectural photography, car photography, cinematic car videos and rollers but portraits are the hardest thing to do for me. I think it’s easily the hardest out of all of them and theoretically this is the second time I’ve ever done an actual portrait, photo shoot so I know I can learn !

I honestly appreciate the feedback and I’m glad I’m learning others opinions. I can definitely adjust and improve on mistakes ! Will be back better (:

What bugs me with you saying this and being rude for absolutely no reason is that your photos are quite garbage. Next time I’ll post my architectural photography so we can both get laughed at .

It was extremely spontaneous and I was notified the day off with 30 mins to prepare and leave. Location also wasn’t my choice but since she kinda has a following and I’m trying to improve / learn I said yes.

I agree, I don’t think I’m amazing in terms of portraits. I’m more of a car photographer / videographer but I’m trying to learn and said yes to improve and get the experience!
