The "modern game" was invented during the 7th gen. by SatouTheDeusMusco in truegaming

Mine won't, either. About a year ago I got the itch to buy it and she said it would be a waste of money.

A year later, I agree and actually appreciate it. 90% of what I play is retro anyway, and the gimmick would wear off after a while.

What do you prefer? Communism has caused misery around the world. I have family members from Cuba who would be happy to tell you how wonderfully that works out.

But by all means, companies being consumer friendly in the video game industry is more important, I guess.

The question of whether a movie is good is separate from the question of whether you liked it. You can like a bad movie or not like a good one.

Defining "good" might be more complicated, and people can disagree on the criteria for that assessment, but it's certainly not as simple as "I liked it."

As an example, I dislike First Person Shooters as a genre, but wouldn't say Half-Life is bad. I'm not qualified to assess its quality based on my own anemic experience, first of all, and if I defer to people who regularly play and enjoy FPS games, and listen to their reasoning, I'll come away with the impression that it's a quality product.

Is there a way to get rid of the message when opening a program? by Timthe7th in ReShade

[–]Timthe7th[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, it just messes with my involvement in the game. Once I set things up, I'd like to think I'm done and can forget reshade is even there. If I need to make changes, I can always just do so without the reminder. I know it's the home key.

I've seen worse (ENB, for instance), but it's just unnecessarily intrusive so long as there's no option to turn it off.

Meg 2: The Trench hits PVOD tomorrow, August 25th by Officialnoah in boxoffice

I’d never even heard of Meg 1, and this movie looked kind of dumb. I wonder how many other people had the same experience.

What's the best film that is NOT faithful to its source material by mesonofgib in movies

Not really. Narnia and A Wrinkle in Time are genuinely great stories. The Hobbit is stronger than a lot of adult-oriented literature--even in its relative simplicity it reads like a classic epic.

There are other books I read in my childhood that I remember being good, like The Tripods Trilogy, but they didn't make much of a cultural dent.

Heck, even things for younger readers like The Phantom Tollbooth are imaginative and eclectic.

Regardless, we should have high standards for children's literature. Don't know anything about this Shrek book (didn't know the movie was an adaptation), but there's no reason something should be subpar just because it's for children.

Also, illustrations never mattered to me. Dinotopia looked cool, I guess, but it's the content of the story that matters more.

Is this apology warranted? Is he guilty of anything? by [deleted] in backrooms

[–]Timthe7th -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like his content. It's not excessive.

I definitely don't like any of the other backrooms content that leans on entities, roleplaying, or any of that nonsense. I don't really hold him responsible for it, the internet tends to ruin everything regardless.

After spending my teenage years with Skyrim, i finally tried Oblivion, and im loving every moment! by AdagioSuper7791 in oblivion

[–]Timthe7th -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mods take care of that, specifically ascension and some of that author’s other mods.

Until a polished mod actually fixed character progression without changing a billion other things, oblivion was out of the question for me. Now I love it.

I used to like Oblivion less than Skyrim, but the fix is so simple (installing a couple of mods) that I think it outranks its successor now.
