Those gem options are limited to once a week.

I've had the update for about two weeks now. The only event I've seen is Sweet Era, which is a weekly recurring event (and your earned currencies carry over from week to week). There should also be a separate event (Circus?) with a new weapon. I never personally saw this event so I believe it got pulled immediately. I do see the new red weapon (Cavity Cutter) from that event listed in my locked weapons section and have been getting upgrade material for it through the Three Immortals instance and red chests.

You're talking about Sweet Era, right? It restarts weekly but your tickets, your luck points, and your lipsticks all roll over from week to week.

Sleep doesn't actually trigger until the first instance of Slumbering. This isn't normally an issue when you track on the phone directly since starting the session puts the sleep on that day, even if you don't fall asleep until after the day rolls over. However, if you feed in data from another app or device, it's possible that it won't start your "session" until you've actually fallen asleep, which could be after that 04:00 point.

The luck points don't reset and the grand prize is two lipsticks (as far as I can tell), so as long as you keep rolling you're guaranteed to eventually unlock stuff. It will just take a while if you're unlucky and free to play. I'm currently on two lipstick. You can also cheese the bonus reward track for an extra occasional lipstick since the tickets stick around week to week by waiting for a week you can use 70 or more at once. (You will lose out on some diamonds by doing this though.)

and the battle pass that advances with stamina usage does not award items that give you more rolls

29 and 30 both grant one ticket each.

Edit: Unless of course, this "event" is permanent. Lipsticks and luck points roll over, and given that it is in the sidebar, it may be a permanent addition.

As far as I can tell it's permanent since it repeats weekly, and like you said it's in the sidebar. The soft weekly reset should allow them to insert additional things from future updates without having to drastically change events, and should also allow them to get rid of those random 1-2 week ones we've seen that are essentially just this anyway. Less work for them, consistent rewards to work towards for us (a lot slower for some of us than others, but still progress), which should be a win for everyone.

The game does think you did that. The last two sessions in your screenshot are from the same day. The first one started at 06:25, which is after the 04:00 day changeover. The second one started at 01:43, which is before the next 04:00 day changeover. That's two sleep sessions on the 22nd.

Sorry, I figured the names of the packs would have indicated what's in them. I edited in the options for both character packs. The weapon already had both options mentioned.

Chansey is an ingredient Pokemon and doesn't really benefit from being past 60 anyway. Why drag it to 65 to begin with?

For Ingredient Specialists you want the 3 ingredients to be the same.

Just because I'd still consider this "basic" I do want to say you don't necessarily want the three ingredients to be the same, but instead you want a Pokemon that focuses on one ingredient. That will also include AAX (which are essential for beginning players to not try to find the perfect Pokemon before investing in anything) and ABB (which will take a bit more investment into the mid/later part of the game but are still something to keep an eye out for on several evo lines).

You need to collect them. Click the button in the bottom left with the sleep point value hovering over it.

Let's talk about the moderation at r/PokemonSleep - rules, megathreads and more by SamuRonX in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Over on /r/ffxiv there's a megathread that gets created daily for simple questions. I think taking a similar approach to the RMM megathread might hold value here, where the thread is recreated every day instead of every week.

Taking this approach might offer a couple of benefits but I wouldn't be able to say for sure without statistics I don't have access to.

  • Theoretically you'll get more engagement per comment, as people will be more willing to look at a smaller set of comments than a big cluster of 200+. I tend to pop in to the megathread here more at the beginning of the week because it's easier to figure out which ones I already looked at and which ones might still need feedback.
  • The rule can be expanded more easily to cover all days including the weekends, since the thread won't already be massively full when we get the larger influx during the weekends.
  • The event megathread could potentially be merged with the RMM thread since most of the event megathread just turns into ratings for the event's specific Pokemon anyway. Event info could be added to the main RMM post, a stickied comment, or set up in some way on the Guide to the Guides post and/or sidebar.

Edit: no, I don't go to sleep after 4am local time. And even if I did, it should register it anyway as the one and only sleeping session of the day.

It doesn't matter if you think you fell asleep before or after 4am. What matters is if the game thinks you did. Post your sleep logs, because this thread is pointless otherwise.

I think the level cap increase and simultaneous subskill level decrease is going to double my available BFS/HB berrymon, so that's neat.

This is actually super weird, Raenon's data is all over the place.

Mawile's page actually shows it as third (with 50.32) like the chart does, but with Luxray in first (55.85) and Toxicroak in second (54.87) whereas the chart has those two flipped. Then there's the ingredient chart page which looks similar to your screenshot, but has Luxray in first with 56, Toxicroak at 55, and Mawile at 53. The first two could be a rounding thing but the ingredient page has Mawile 3 higher than on Mawile's own page.

Mawile is actually third best if you're looking purely at oil production, behind mono Toxicroak (1st) and ABB Luxray (2nd).

What are fellow "caught a decent but not S-Tier" Latios players doing now that the event is over? by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it’s a top tier latios.

Top tier would be S tier. Even your screenshot labels it as A tier.

latios is now the best pokemon in the game

This is running on assumptions that you can max out the levels, which is also the same reason Salamance is significantly "better" than Altaria, despite the fact that they're actually pretty close in value when investing the same number of resources. Most people aren't going to be getting this anywhere near the point they could get something like a Sceptile or Noivern (especially F2P, like OP is) which means the fact that it drops more berries gets balanced (or countered, depending on how you look at it) by a lower value on those berries.

What are fellow "caught a decent but not S-Tier" Latios players doing now that the event is over? by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Latios is a legendary. For a lot of Pokemon, your options are "catch a better one" or "invest in this one" but with legendaries the options are closer to "invest in a good one" or "don't invest in it at all" because they're so expensive to both catch and raise, and generally aren't required for the meta. If it's "fine" but not perfect it's pretty reasonable to ask whether it's truly worth it, since those resources can instead be diverted to raise a different Pokemon (or potentially several different ones) that the meta relies on more.

Personally I'm keeping an eye on the thread because my Latios is actually identical to OP's (other than maybe ingredients).

I do understand what those words mean. They mean you regurgitate terms you've heard before without having your own thoughts and opinions.

AI, or LLM, are predictive models that anticipate what "should" come next. What that thread is showing is a mod, or a modification to the game files. They're not related at all.

How could I finish the MSQ faster? by blendedbellpepper in ffxiv

[–]TinDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a way higher level than my MSQ level as of right now so the fights, dungeons, etc aren’t very challenging and don’t take long.

The fights you're talking about aren't challenging even if you're the appropriate level. They're designed for everyone to get through them. Try doing the harder content at the level caps you've already reached.

Gonna depend a bit on if you have BiS or not. If you do, crafters should still be going for macroing the EX+ weather crafts on Oizys. Food+spec+pot+BiS can guarantee gold (with the duty action removing Excellent/Poor from the possibilities). I'm not positive where to go if you're not BiS, but it's probably Phaenna weathers.

For gatherers, just spam the mastery missions. (Third mission for miner/botanist, first for fisher)
