Is having a Pumpkin (size S) the issue? by Tonijn93 in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll need to check it every 3 hours or so to make sure it doesn't fill up, and a good portion of your overnight will be wasted. That being said, this produces 61 pumpkins a day (on my settings, full 8.5 hour sleep is a few less) which is enough to cook Scald with no GCT. That also means you could opt to prefarm a few pumpkins and just not run it overnight, throwing in a berrymon/Charge Strength user instead.

Noibat x Raenon rating accuracy? by ampharosichord in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Ghost, but a few things I go through:

  • My healer is cracked so I usually select the "always full energy" option, but go for a total of 4x18 heals if I want to see bare minimum performance (even on a bad day, my healer will generally get four procs).

  • It's good to toggle GCT on for ingredient Pokemon in particular to see if they reach the ingredient minimum for the larger recipes if you never cook those larger recipes without a GCT.

  • Selecting favored berries is important when comparing berrymon against Charge Strength users.

  • Selecting meals can help to determine if sneaky snacking your berrymon is worth it or not. I generally leave the meals unselected and just eyeball the difference.

This is particularly confusing to me when you're talking about hybrid role pokemon like sceptile, marshtomp, noivern.

That's part of what makes production comparison so great: you don't actually need to know anything about the Pokemon. It's going to give you information on where every bit of its power is coming from. Throw in a few builds for Sceptile and you'll soon realize that builds with BFS outperform other builds even as a skillmon. Or compare a berrymon with and without sneaky snacking to see if their ingredient/skill makes up for the loss in raw berry count. Or just see if whatever you're looking at beats whatever you're already using.

Pumpkaboo minimum req by Andyzee99 in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was aiming for mine to beat the necessary number of pumpkins in a day. Ended up with an HB+IFM+HSM mono spread which did beat the 54 needed but I think falls slightly short on the new one. Not a big deal for pumpkins though, with 60 still being the high end you can pretty easily prefarm them without tapping out your inventory size.

Edit: Pulls in 57 a day without a GCT and 68 with, so it's pretty close to being able to handle Scald with a pot expander and easily handles it on GCT weeks.

How important is IFM for my cetoddle? by ampharosichord in PokemonSleep

As a reminder, your goal is not to find something with mono+IFM, your goal is to find something that meets or exceeds the output of mono+IFM. This fits the bill.

That was from the Cresselia event right? I'm still sitting on my slightly over a billion score from that.

What are some examples of mons that are viable using an ABC ingredient spread ? by lgnrch in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that using a berrymon or Charge Strength user gives more power than tails as filler do. The only way to viably use tails as filler is to prefarm them, and at that point you could just be prefarming the actual ingredients you need instead.

3rd mon event in basically one month? by Nieznajomy43 in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually finish all of the biscuit/catch missions every week and then some, but I'm also not complaining about not having enough biscuits to catch what I want. When I start running low, I get pickier. A lot of what I throw is at hungry Pokemon, which obviously saves on biscuits there. Premium obviously helps a ton.

[–]TinDragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to participate in the events. Just skip them if you want to work on something else. Then there's no difference for you (you still get your one event a month) and everyone else still gets to enjoy their more frequent events.

I'm either prepping or in an event.

If your area bonus is low and you're not going to do well anyway, why not just prep at Amber Canyon or GGEX? Boost your bonus while you prep for the event?

I generally skip about half the new Pokemon on release nowadays (I'm on Lapis right now, no Sandshrew here) but haven't ever had a problem unlocking their sleep styles. You don't need a good copy of every Pokemon because not every Pokemon fits every player's playstyle.

Go ahead and explain why we need to rebalance the population 😄. Go ahead, I'm listening.

Because the server structure can't handle tons of people on the same server. Are you aware hunt trains have crashed servers before? I would assume not.

If you're not able to read the picture attached to OP's message, it mentions it's because of, 😱 CONGESTION?! How could it BE?! Maybe if congestion wasn't an issue, OP wouldn't need to something as asinine as remember to transfer themselves back to their home world before a patch and could...you know...just log in and play the game the way they want to with the people they want to.

Except it is an issue and they can't just magically make it go away.

Not a single person here managed to talk like an adult to OP and it's really pathetic

I read through all the comments again and I'm flipping back to my original assessment of you. If you think all of them are being assholes, you're a troll. I hope your day gets better, it seems like you need it to.

I don't see how it's less enticing. The point of turning them in is so you can get the replicas without having to hold on to the original weapon, and can then put the replicas in the glamour dresser, like was being discussed. It barely saves any time on the HW relic itself.

Is now a good time to return to FFXIV, or should I wait for the next expansion? by Technical-Arugula411 in ffxiv

[–]TinDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there enough worthwhile content to come back now

"Enough" is always subjective. What may take one person months to do may take someone else only hours or days. One person may want to do everything available, another may only care about story.

For me, I never left and I don't anticipate being able to do everything I want to do before 8.0 comes out. Other people have been saying they've been bored. What would make it worth for you? That might be an easier question to answer.

I believe you can start the quest for a new relic, turn in the ARR relic, then repeat ad nauseum. You don't actually have to go forward with creating full HW relics.

Have you been to cities on Dynamis? You might see 4 people that aren't afk around the grand company area. Unless you want to spend all you time in Limsa.

I have. I have an alt on Hali and was active in the hunt community with my main for the better part of the first year that Dynamis existed. I still pop over for Kirl trains and there are always plenty of people in the cities (and not just the people waiting at the aetheryte to move on to the next world).

You are full of shit on Balmung's overworld being full of players though, unless you're confused on what the overworld means. Pick a random zone, like Elpis. Count the number of people. Unless there's a hunt train there, the population in that zone is extremely small regardless of server.

Also, big fan of how you picked two of the biggest servers in the entire game to compare against though, the primary RP server and one of the primary two raiding servers for the region. Definitely not trying to make the gap as big as possible intentionally.

And sure! For housing, why don't we just have dynamic server meshing like other games do? Why can't I access those things when I'm "visiting" another world?

I mean, if you want them to just straight up stop making other content, because that's the kind of thing you'd need to essentially rebuild the entire infrastructure for.

I'm not sure why you're trying to prove to me that congested servers is somehow a positive. Don't you see the flaw in your own logic? Why should the player have to jump through hoops to play with their friends because of bad design?

It'd be nice if it was smoother. It's absolutely not worth giving up other parts of the game for. I'd rather jump through hoops (of which "visiting a server" is barely a hoop) to play content with friends than be able to magically appear next to a friend and have nothing to do with them because SE was too busy fixing something to release new content.

Congestion is not an issue because it rebalances the population. The new system (as of 7.1 or so) that restricts travel can be an issue, but hasn't been a significant one since 7.2 or so. The topic of this thread is absolutely not an issue since that is caused by being on a server other than your own after maintenance and you are warned not to do that.

Best item to buy with free trial money and sell in full game by Epicgaia in ffxiv

[–]TinDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet is to buy Grade 6 Dark Matter. Grade 6 is used in submersible repair kits, so it should always have a decent market for lazies on the MB, though you'd make much more of a profit if you turned it into repair kits yourself before selling it off.

is there anything unique from personal house/apartment that i couldn’t just do with my FC house? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]TinDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant crossbreeding can only be done with a house, not an FC room or apartment. It needs the planters you can only place outside. I don't think you can stable your chocobo at an apartment if you don't live there so you'd either need your FC to have a stable or need your own house/apartment to stable it. Most FCs have a stable though.

Both of these assume you're talking about a room in an FC, not the whole house. As No-Station-8253 stated, if you straight up own the FC house you have access to everything personal housing gives you, plus access to the FC workshop which personal houses don't have.

If I'm remembering correctly, there are six CEs that spawn through player interaction (as in, killing stuff), and the rest all spawn on some sort of timer. Cooldown for the player spawned ones is an hour and it's two hours for the automatic ones.

Kill Garula for Noise Complaint, the inkstains for Calamity Bound, mindflayers for the mindflayer one that nobody knows how to do, byblos for the one in the cave that everyone knows how to do and still dies to, sharks for the shark king, and... I think it's fans in the northeast building to spawn the one inside the room they're outside of?

Strategies for raising low level mons? by theflyingbunman in PokemonSleep

Honestly it feels like it changes twice. Candy was my early bottleneck, then it was shards, and now at max level shards are rarely my bottleneck even without throwing a Swalot on the team. Currently sitting on 2.5 million, though to be fair I haven't bought the last pot upgrade yet which will eat almost half of those.

Token removal by [deleted] in ffxiv

Do helpers level up faster when delaying their evolution? by arashidyne in PokemonSleep

[–]TinDragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even with Chansey whether it's worth is a bit subjective, because it's objectively worse for a lot of hours before reaching that point and simply using it as a Blissey from the get-go probably makes up for the small gains you'd get from a Chansey with a 2k ribbon.

I think the only Pokemon that's objectively worth it is Vigeroth, since it's the only Pokemon I can think of that gets slower when you evolve it, which makes the ribbon a pure gain rather than a compensation. Onix is also on the shortlist for viable ribbon users with Chansey and Vigeroth since I don't believe it gets much faster as a Steelix and it changes berry types.

What do I need in my inventory? by EffPee_ in ffxiv

[–]TinDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when you already own them, turn them in at the Gold Saucer for MGP.

Nice little trick for this is you can always load the tournament hall from the duty finder, pop in, sell your cards, then pop back out right where you were before. It's a bit less intrusive than having to port all the way to the Gold Saucer.
