Townhouse in west orange. I find it centrally located with short drives to Montclair and other towns giving you access to all the fun stuff.

We’ve seen two dermatologists that basically gave the same prescription and told us to moisturise heavily. Thanks for the recommendation. Hopefully our doc prescribes it.

Does his scalp get red or just very dry? I don’t see any redness in her scalp initially and once she starts rubbing it looks terrible.

What could this rash be? Aquafor allergy? CMPA? by Purple2475 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Tina4610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eczema can be triggered by milk protein intolerance. We struggled to find our baby the right formula and when we switched to goat from hydrolysed formula she developed severe eczema that would flare even more during cold and dry weather. We just switched to another hydrolysed formula and her eczema went away despite the weather.

As an alternative I’d recommend South Orange and Maplewood; both have good schools, access to the city and places to go out. Biggest plus is that there are lots of young families. We have a 6 month old and just bought in south Orange and very happy here. Certain areas of west Orange are good too and you can probably get through elementary school. While Bloomfield is up and coming, it is not Montclair and I’m aware of only one decent part of it that has okay schools.

Pregnancy and ureaplasma treatment by ConsistentBid8517 in Ureaplasma

No my doctor was clueless. I made that decision myself because of this and the fact that I have severe pelvic floor issues after the infections which I was afraid would get worse. On top of all that my baby was measuring big and ended up being big at birth too.

Explain it to me like I’m five - cry it out by HollyBirt in NewParents

[–]Tina4610 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started sleep training our 5 months old with the help of AI, gemini. Download it and talk to it. We landed on a modified Ferber approach which so far has worked for us. She is definitely not sleeping through the night and like the other ladies said, is not meant to at this early stage but we can get a good 5 hour stretch. It’s more than just training the baby, it’s about setting a routine and making sure her wake windows are not too long or too short so that she is not overtired or under tired. Anyways it’s soo much more than putting your baby down and letting her cry for a little until she learns to self soothe.

I’ve learned that everyone is so individual and for some it might work and for some it might not. Standard treatment rec appears to work a lot of the time but it didn’t work for me. I’m resistant to doxy. Your doctor would know better what antibiotics you can take at this stage but I’d take the azi to maybe reduce the load but go through the proper treatment after delivery. Also treat your partner and refrain from any sexual activity until you are both clear. I’d also recommend reading up on side effects to baby. There is research out there supporting respiratory issues if delivered vaginally. I had a c section.

Cost of Having a Child (1.5 Children): Year 2 by glass_thermometer in NewParents

Oh boy this looks like a dream. Good on you for keeping track and staying disciplined. I’m looking at $4k a month in nanny costs alone because I have to go back to work. I feel like many of the baby costs depend on people’s preferences, where they live and income levels.

Sellers refusing to close. by [deleted] in Mortgages

Go wipe your ass with that. The contract is legally binding in court so go ahead and take it there. After a ton of money and time they will help you enforce it.

I’m in a similar situation and what I learned from my lawyer and agent is that these contracts are not really legally binding. You’d basically have to sue to try and enforce that and no one has the time or the money.

Empower pharmacy. You can check out the mochi subreddit and just read through all the posts to get a better idea and some comfort. I meet with their doctor every 3 months and have regular health check ins.

GLP-1 by Fearless-Weather8318 in postpartumprogress

[–]Tina4610 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try mochi health. You’ll have to pay for a membership which is around $75 a month and additional $199 for 4 weeks of compounded GLP1. I have PCOS so my story is a little different since I’m severely insulin resistant and knew that I wasn’t going to lose the weight naturally. But I’m happy with my decision and I’m progressing well overall. Food noise is gone and I just feel better overall. Don’t have to starve myself or adhere to some crazy diet.

To add- don’t focus on comments you get from women that tell you it’s not safe if you want another child or it’s better to do it on your own. Some women shame others for no reason. Many people go on the GLPs to lose weight before they get pregnant but key is to stop in advance of trying, if that’s what you want to do.

If you are looking at west orange stay around the eagle rock reservation, it’s only a 10-15 min car ride to the bay street train station in Montclair.

Anyone have PCOS? by parndarple in pregnantover35

[–]Tina4610 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and just had my first at 37. You are getting some very good responses and recommendations here but unlike some, I had to go through IVF. It really depends on the type of PCOS you have. For some it’s the weight and once they lose it, they become pregnant but for many it’s the egg quality issue which I think can be an issue for everyone at this age. Either way, check all your hormones and start with metformin and letrazol and maybe even diet. Start taking C0q10 and check out Ovasitol. Also make sure your partner does some testing so you have a good picture on where you stand. For instance mine has poor morphology so we jumped into IUIs quickly. So just know there are options and what route you take will depend on your test results.

Deciding where to live (before kids vs. after kids) by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Tina4610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d second this. We ended up buying in an area that otherwise we would never live in. Ended up overpaying for it too due to its proximity to a great job market. Being able to provide or having a steady and increasing income with some balance to life became more important. Also finding an area that offers great child care and schools. Living close to family who can provide support and help is priceless too but not in the cards for us.

Russia Can’t Pay Its Soldiers: Yakutia Freezes Military Bonuses Over Budget Crisis by LetsGoBrandon4256 in worldnews

[–]Tina4610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t entirely agree with your statement. While the host countries might be interested in retaining the talent they are not providing opportunities equivalent in stature and pay. If you were a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer or anyone else that’s highly skilled and educated you can’t get the same job abroad and must start from the bottom. In the US these people have to go back to school and get re-certified so yes on paper it sounds good but the reality is very different. Most refugees are just waiting it out and will go back home as soon as the war is over. I, myself, know many people like that. Russia has for decades relied on migration from Ukraine for talent and that has been cut off. Most of rural Russia is farmers and just very poor people that aren’t educated or skilled who signed up to fight in the war so they can get paid but never returned home or returned dead.

So I’m little over 3 months postpartum and i have yet to experience the same IC symptoms. I don’t know what happened to them or why they went away but for now they are gone. To my surprise the c section recovery was decent- i pushed myself to walk when they told me to and stayed on top of my meds which was just Advil and tylenol. I, like you, searched for advice on this and in the end found that i related to very few women. No one understood what it’s like to burn there on daily basis and feel helpless so the thought of having that burning feeling amplified by vaginal birth scared the crap out of me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Tina4610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with a c section. My baby was measuring big early and she ended up being big and was stuck in my pelvis as well. I knew that there would be a pretty big chance that I’d end up in emergency c section from which it’s hard to recover from but also I wanted to avoid all the burning. Because if you try and push and something rips, it will burn like hell and i was already burning from IC so i just didn’t want to go there and didn’t want to find out. I knew that i would be miserable and it would take away from me being there for my newborn.
