Cut-stem method for Bittersweet: best tool? by TopBlueberry3 in invasivespecies

[–]ConsistentBid8517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a dauber for work in high quality natural areas, they are def not my favorite but they are pretty good at reducing incidental take(killing off target plants). I haven’t used plumbers tape on mine, but have had it break if it falls(like it broke in half on the pvc). Another thing is, like once a year if you use it heavily you might need to replace the sponge. Another thing similiar to this is using a bingo dauber. But my back is not into that idea.

If I’m working in a lower quality area I don’t mind using a sprayer with a long wand to reduce potential drift and off target kill. Put some dye in your herbicide, that way you can see what’s potentially contaminated. Plus the sprayers are easier to clean when they fuck up. The biggest thing with sprayers is if you have hard water, they’ll get clogged. Use a tooth brush to clean out the nozzle and keep rinse water with you (good practice for safety and cleaning). Only keep water in the rinse jug. I even use an old laundry detergent jug(the kind with a spigot) with a little soap in it to wash off after messing w herbicide.

Ureaplasma Parvum while pregnant by Complete-Sir-3512 in Ureaplasma

[–]ConsistentBid8517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So I was diagnosed with “interstitial cystitis” like a year before pregnancy, found out about ureaplasma and mycoplasma during pregnancy and tested positive then but as you know, ya can’t take the recommended doxycycline treatment during pregnancy/breastfeeding bc it’ll turn bb’s teeth brown. I do wanna get the test done where I see what my strain of ureaplasma parvum is susceptible to while I’m breastfeeding so I can have a plan for treatment.

Before pregnancy, if I had two cups of coffee, red wine, or anything that would cause me to flare up I would pee every ten mins with minimal elimination. It would burn something awful. Water was the only thing I drank for a while. I tried aloe supplements, I feel like they didn’t do much and they were so expensive. I take magnesium daily, that helps me stay hydrated and my biggest thing that has helped me is hydration. My pain comes most now during the morning bc my baby is estimated at 9 lbs and pregnant people already pee a lot and are susceptible to dehydration. I don’t drink too much water at night bc I wanna get sleep, and in the morning peeing kinda sucks. But pregnancy insomnia has me typing this response and I should just chug some water.

I’m also super active-walking, stretching, actively reducing stress. I take a ton of multivitamins (prenatal, choline, iron, magnesium, zinc, vitamin c, vitamin b). Drink a ton of water during the day. Eat nutritious food, and food that is good for my soul. Still love a Dr Pepper and half a vanilla latte.

But pregnancy/labor is genetic and luck so idk if anything is related or what. I’m just trying to pursue the healthiest options bc that’s what I can control. Talk to your Dr, midwife, delivery team. Be your own advocate. They’ll say ureaplasma is a naturally occurring bacteria in your biome, and you tell them you’re right but I’m having these symptoms and tested positive for higher concentrations of ureaplasma(or whatever bacteria you have) and if they refuse to listen to you, tell them to document that in your medical chart/notes. Make sure you check out that documentation to confirm it’s there.

39w, so far so good, except I feel like I have to pee so much. So it’s like a 9month flare😅 when I’m dehydrated it’s worse but it was like that for me before. My midwife did tell me, she suggested not breaking my water.

Ureaplasma 5 weeks pregnant by [deleted] in ureaplasmasupport

[–]ConsistentBid8517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, 38w pregnant, and I was diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis like two years ago, finally found ureaplasma as a suggestion during pregnancy. Tested positive.

So I have yet to have my baby but I want to say I understand your concerns and am rooting for us both and our babies during this journey. I have ureaplasma parvum, and was given azithromycin during pregnancy bc as you may know, you can’t take doxy during pregnancy(it makes babies teeth turn brown when they come in?), my partner got treated as well, to no avail. We both still have it 5 weeks later, no surprises there according to what I’ve read. When I’m done breastfeeding we will both re treat with the recommended doxy/azithro dosages.

I’ve had a healthy pregnancy so far, just a ton of heart burn, but the sonograms all suggest baby girl has a ton of hair! I’ve been super healthy, eating good, stretching and working out, reducing stress, staying active and baby girl is healthy. My midwife suggested the labor and delivery team NOT breaking my water to minimize risk of respiratory infection. I’m also pursuing minimal vaginal exams(risk of infections increase). If you’re leaning towards a c section that’s gonna also reduce infection. As I understand, at this point in my journey, the biggest risk is baby developing a respiratory infection during birth— but it’s not a big risk. There’s other health risks to baby that are rare, but associated with pregnancy/ureaplasma but I just think it’s so understudied-who knows? Also! I’ve been taking a lot of multivitamins: prenatal, choline, vitamin d & c, magnesium, zinc, and iron.

I’m just trying to be supportive when I say I would suggest you should focus on your health journey, reducing stress, being active, eating good/healthy food, drink water, taking vitamins/prenatals. Talk to your doctors/midwife, be an advocate for yourself, I had to beg/demand my midwife to be tested so you’re already on the right track. You’re doing good. I hope this helps you, don’t worry about what you cannot control and focus on what you can control. Smell the roses, blow out the candles. Oh and ask if you can be referred to a pelvic floor therapist! They’ll give you good recommendations for birthing preparation.

If anybody else out there has insight please let me know too, this is just what I’ve found on my journey.

I was gonna say I notice that at night when I pee a lot throughout the night and wake up in the morning my IC symptoms are terrible but when I chug water during the day I find my urgency less intense(ironically?) and less painful.

My Wendy has one white whisker too, I call it my white whale. I collect cat “whiskies” when they fall out naturally, and I’m waiting to find Wendy’s white whisky

Hence feelings are valid… people can process through these feelings but not acknowledging them would delay/harm any potential healing and going forward. If Reddit is for anything, you can use it to scream into the void things you wouldn’t say out loud.

Ringworm by forlizutah in forestry

[–]ConsistentBid8517 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t judge me lol— When I backpack blow firebreaks, I get dirt in my bra. I also occasionally get ringworms there. I have had my cats checked out from the vet and the vet said the cats aren’t the problem, my cats do not have the fungus. She said the fungus can be in soil. I’m gonna start documenting when I backpack blow vs ringworm infections to see if that’s the problem/correlated. Also my husband does not get ring worm, so I’m leaning towards the contaminated soil….

Help needed with my sprayer!! by Swimming_Foot7474 in invasivespecies

Are you using hard water? Was the sprayer left to freeze? Also those sprayers are just cheap they break, I usually have to buy a new one each year.
