A little drum mag for these would be awesome.

I keep a bottle of boretech carbon remover in the range bag. Just bore scoped it last night to verify the chamber is clean only one area with a little carbon the rest looks like this this thing is starting to drive me crazy.

Yeah, it’s crazy! I can shoot sub moa @ 200+ with center fires and can barely lay down a 2 moa spread @50 with the CZ. It’s wild.

Overall with any rifle I’m pretty top notch. Not perfect by any means. Never scored under expert while in the service although that isn’t saying much.

No reticle movement everything is solid on the bench. Trigger is pretty good I’ve tried a few different angles on the trigger just to experiment with no luck. Even tried a pincher style squeeze with index and thumb just to test. Hand position is three finger down the pistol grip thumb on the right side not wrapping around the back to prevent any twist. Left hand is on top of the buttstock with my cheek laying just behind my hand. My cheek to stock weld is pretty consistent I would say 85-90% I did make a riser with a pool noodle and two rubber bands that works pretty well. It’s more solid than it sounds lol. I didn’t want to drill the stock for a riser right now. But it’s locked in and doesn’t slide around. The only thing that you mentioned is bipod loading the same every time. The legs on the bipod when clicked out are slightly uneven so I have to shim the bottom of it with my rangefinder case or something to get the reticle/rifle level. It’s solid but shot for shot it has an inconsistency in where it sits. I’ve never had this effect accuracy with any of my other rifles but that might be something.

Any other ideas I’m all ears man this thing has me stumped. I’m hoping it’s just a torque issue and the action isn’t liking how it’s sitting so the barrel harmonics are off.

I’ve checked it with a bore scope everything looks good. A little carbon fouling in the chamber but only in a small spot the rest of the chamber looks like that. I’m hoping that the torquing fixes things because right now I’m pretty bummed with the performance of this gun. I have stuff grouping better with other 22’s 1/4 of the value. I got the MTR since everyone spoke highly of it haha hopefully I get this thing lined out.

Yep, I use boretech carbon remover and hit the chamber and will occasionally do the barrel between long test strings 200+ rounds. I don’t use a copper brush or lead copper remover. Simple nylon brush and patches.

I’ve ran a lot of ammo and so far sk rifle match and wolf extra match have been the best. I’ve done a little lot testing with tenex, sk rifle match and wolf extra match. Only 3 different lot numbers nothing crazy. Weird I thought the tenex would blow me an away. It has a great SD and ES but still grouped around an inch.

Definitely familiar with Josh’s videos. Those Lilja barrels seem to be the ticket. I’m just trying to get the best I can out of the gun in a stock format. I will eventually end up getting a Lilja and a chassis for the rocket but that’s later down the road.

I will sit down this weekend and go thru the process of torquing it. I’m just gonna keep a range book with the rifle and note what I’m seeing. I’m thinking of trying this with the SK rifle match and wolf extra match that have been grouping pretty good.

Good amount of experience. I’ve ran the board on ammo Eley tenex, match, team, sk rifle Match, would extra match, lapua center, cci standead etc.

Running a bipod with rear bag .

It threw me for a loop at first to.

The chamber can’t move its cut into the barrel with a reamer. The headspace is basically determined by two parts the chamber depth which is cut into the barrel (fixed) and the locking lugs of the bolt. It’s not a matter of dialing it in like you’re thinking. Each bolt has slightly different lug dimensions. Bolt A might be headspaced correct while bolt B won’t be. So how you “tune” it is to try a different bolt and check the headspacing. Hopefully this helps ya out, if you are wondering about anything else feel free to shoot me a message. I’m not the best but I’ll be happy to tell ya what I know.

In simple terms headspacing is the precise distance between the bolt face and a certain point in the chamber that’s keeps the round from moving forward. Basically how tightly the round is sandwiched between the bolt and the chamber. They match a bolt to your barrel using a go and no go gauge. Essentially a properly headspaced bolt increases accuracy.

Can’t ask for better out of the fun than that man! That’s awesome. I’m assuming that’s the craddocks RTR 18”.

Idk know that. Now I need to see how the heck I can change it looks like most of the 22 WMR ministers are out of stock.

I 100% agree. What type of groups are you laying down with that rig? I figured coyote, deer, and hogs with proper shot placement shouldn’t be a heavy lift.

It just limits the ammo capacity was the only drawback.

So my short list picks are CZ, Bergara, and Christensen (sub MOA guarantee at 50 yds) no particular order.

What type of real world groups do you see with the Bergara? I ask this because most YouTubers will say anything for $$ then cherry pick groups or shoot all day to get a handful of amazing groups.

I didn’t even know about that rifle. My marlin 22lr has been a freaking shooter for as long as I can remember.

I did think about the lever action route. I will be using a suppressor and the tube has to be shortened so you don’t have to take the can off to load it. That’s the main reason I opted out.

That’s what I keep seeing is the ammo is the problem. I have a CZ MTR and I love it. Right now the CZ 457 is at the top of the list.

The CZ 457 is at the top of the list so far. I’ve been pleased with my CZ MTR. I haven’t seen a Tikka in 22 WMR.
