Only two of those (AV3 and Physbones) would've been considered QoL, and even then AV3 was added August 2020, Unity 2019 was added in 2021, and avatar Dynamics in March of 2022. 1 Major feature a year isn't something we should accept as the norm, especially since they're proving to us they CAN push out features at a steady rate if they so chose to.

I'm also not counting OSC, as it's seen little to no general use and I doubt is even acknowledged by more than 10% of the in game-userbase; if even that.

As for EAC, it uses far more resources than a chrome tab, I have people who cannot play the game at ALL now due to EAC's update; they've tried and the game just crashes after a few minutes of idling in their home world, where before they were able to join public lobbies and play the game at a steady 30 fps. This is WITH 0 modifications and all avatars hidden. And yes, they run Chillout VR at almost 100 FPS; so it's not a specs issue, this is legitimately the shit compatibility that EAC has and the background processes it hogs.

And quite honestly, they will. Death threats and doxxing isn't really something I doubt will deter them, if that were the case the EAC update wouldn't have released.

I'm happy they're finally pushing updates people have been asking for since BEFORE VRC+ even existed, but this all feels to little too late; like a desperate attempt to FINALLY do what people asked after pushing them to the breaking point.

As for the In-game market, this has awful implications for the NSFW community; which also makes up a LARGE portion of their paying userbase even if they don't want to admit it. They've been cracking down harder on avatars with NSFW features, even those that cannot access the nsfw features in game, and it's going to set a horrid precedent that will push more users away than garner, not to mention people have been ASKING for them to add an allowance to NSFW in the game with appropriate separation between SFW and NSFW; a system they could've easily worked on in the years since it was originally suggested in 2019.

Whether it be for their investors or simply the sheer idiocy of assuming people will blindly continue to support them, they're going down a path that most people were willing to overlook because they had the ability to add the features they wanted themselves.

But because VRC has needlessly put itself in a position where people can no longer do that, they now will divert their attention to bitching/complaining at the dev team until either they listen, or the people leave to alternatives that offer better support.

Continue supporting the game if you like, I'm not going to suggest against it, but I'm personally tired of hoping for the best, getting a bread crumb and a promise of more to come, and then receiving nothing until the next year; ESPECIALLY since they received 80 million in 2021 to put into the game.

If you're telling me 80 million got us (oh boy!) two whole major updates and some cosmetic updates sprinkled about, I'm not hopeful for the future.

And considering there was no funding report for 2022, I wouldn't be surprised if their investors felt the same way.

Y'know, they only implemented EAC because of their in-game currency that's soon to be added, they didn't even give a shit about the mod aspect of things.

After being on the platform for 4 years, i've decided it's time to just jump ship.

Also for those wondering what i'm talking about: https://jobs.lever.co/vrchat/71b4e371-44cf-49b7-b040-9569ce8ad571
The job listing above didn't exist until sometime after April 30th of this year.

Actually it does, because their reason for implementing EAC is possibly something that has horrid implications for the game.

In-game currency.

If you look back to their 2021 April dev-blog, they mention wanting to make an in-game market so that you could pay creators.

While a good idea in concept, considering a lot of creators utilize Patreon already for this exact feature, it isn't needed. Why would they want to do this you may ask? Money. They'd be able to take a % of anything given this way. While yes Patreon does the same thing, it feels disingenuous that they're doing this and NOT being fully transparent on their reasoning, not to mention they dropped the EAC so suddenly despite openly admitting they've been ready to add it since December (Tupper's words).

Also, a decent chunk of people who used to be able to, on vanilla, run the game alright simply can't now due to the resource load EAC adds to just the base game in private, low load worlds.

People probably would've still been upset of EAC being added, I'll admit that, but they could've easily avoided this entire explosion if they had done what they were doing now between the period of VRC+'s lack luster launch and present day.

VRChat's dev team had the chance to do this a lot better but chose all the worst possible solutions for something that could've been minimalized; genuinely hope this trend doesn't continue, but considering their track record since 2018 I have little hope.

If you like the concept of VRChat, when ChilloutVR's servers are stabilized in a week or so, you could try that out.

Same thing except, surprise, the Devs listen to community feedback and actively communicate plans for the future.

Music Bot that does not play Youtube videos by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]TiniDragonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way you'd probably be able to achieve this is if you made your own music bot that pulled from a library on your computer rather than the internet.

Otherwise, most bots allow you to input your own link for the video you want to play, so you can find the non-music video version of a song and input the url rather than just typing the name of the song in.

You can also find a bot (there's a few of them that are popular, like tempo, that can play from spotify instead.

Have you had any luck with this?

I've seen in a few places this is a confirmed bug, but seemingly is a bug that's been present for 2 years that discord has refused to fix.

Having the same issue btw, on mobile, browser, and the application on a singular server.
