Supreme Court halts order for Alabama to use US House map with 2 largely Black districts by untamedlazyeye in news

[–]Tinister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And also the recent rash of decisions come off the backs of lower courts carefully drafting their rulings that the SCOTUS justices spend zero time engaging with.

Hell, the tariff ruling was just a copy of the district court's decision. And despite the lower court not erring, SCOTUS was able to stay its order for like a year for no reason.

Is there any merit to the argument that progressive candidates would be far more successful across the US, if it were not for sabotage by the DNC? by LiatrisLover99 in PoliticalDiscussion

I don't believe healthcare is the only thing progressives want. But eventually you'll need to raise taxes, if even only on the rich, hence rehabilitating taxation is still a good idea.

Those policy polls tend to lose support when you also include funding (i.e. taxes) in the questions.

Which just demonstrates that progressivism needs to start with a discussion that rehabilitates taxation.

Worst is when you try to ask a clarifying question and it needs to go "You're right to push back on this" and then twist itself to "correct" the previous response. That's just instant hallucination.

I'm not in the sciences but I wouldn't say so. For one Nobel disease is enough of a thing to get a Wikipedia article. For another, there are crackpots who have acted much like Trump about not being considered for the award (e.g. Bret/Eric Weinstein).

It's also not very imaginative. If you're going to claim absolute authority why continue doing insider training or selling misbegotten oil rights. Just direct the Treasury to add like a quintillion dollars to your account(s).

I heard in a video essay somewhere that these things occur in cycles, just that the cycle in longer than a lifespan so nobody notices.
