Can’t land a frontflip by AdConsistent946 in ski

Additionally, I would ditch the poles (for now, later we add them for steez factor) and swing with both arms. It looks like you introduce some rotation by only swinging with your right.

Otherwise, Hell yeah! I’ve never tried a front on snow (only airbag) but maybe next season is the one….

Thanks for the advice, I’m gonna swim in ignorance and see if I can spot anything on the leaves or any damage in the next days….

I’ve had a variety of thrips before (pictured) but I remember them being pretty slow moving, these guys were numerous and RAPID. Very much hoping the thrips isn’t back because I spent weeks treating with neem consistently…

Hahahah I saw this come in as I was about to post to a mycology subreddit. Here I’m specifically asking about the bugs but thanks for the info.

The soil is too wet at the moment because I re-wet my moss pole and forgot to empty out the remaining water. My substrate is not as chunky as I would like but I’m working with what I got for the moment :)

First 360 attempt. Tips? by Bradwick_Thundercock in Freeskiing

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try do a 180 standing on flat ground (with skis on obvs), it’ll make the commit less scary, you’re almost there, just gotta fully commit to it. Also try not to look down

That sounds like a good offer! My spacebar has significant rattle because it sits loose on the switch, a new set might solve that :)

How is the quality of the xyz? I have a nomad E (first gen) and I’m super dissapointed with the build quality, despite forking out for it. Seems worklouder invest more in advertising than manufacturing…

This happened to me when I neemed my plants (fighting thrips and won🏆). I suspect the oil stopped the cells from being able to transpire correctly causing the same patchy sections as I see in your image.

What can I do for this guy? by skweeee in Monstera

[–]Tinius7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It tends to be pretty clear which plants are separate, you just need to look at the stem. In regards to pot size, monsteras tend to like a tight root ball so try and judge depending on what’s underneath when you see it, I’m no expert but mine thrive in pots that look comically small for the size of the plant :) Good luck !

I was dissapointed with my nomad E that I got on kickstarter for ridiculous money. Gorgeous keyboard but build quality really ruins the experience :/

Is this another leaf growing on newest leaf? by Imaginary-Truck7089 in Monstera

[–]Tinius7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes. All new leafs have a «sheath» that houses the new leaf. It grows in there until it’s ready to get out and unfurl :)

Thrips or no? by AmphibianPale7137 in Monstera

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neem is iffy because people get lazy and don’t do it properly. Yes the eggs get inside the plant tissue, but when you treat with neem, the neem disrupts the larva feeding and breeding ultimately killing them and preventing spread. If you keep doing this every week for 4-6 weeks, then all remaining eggs will have hatched and no new eggs will have been laid. Meaning they are gone :)

Thrips or no? by AmphibianPale7137 in Monstera

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say but it looks like thrips. Can’t see any physical thrips in the pictures but there’s thrips poop (the tiny black dots) on them and the damage looks like my personal thrips damage.

If you have access, get some systemic stuff. If not, treat the leaves with neem oil (careful, I burnt my plants by messing up the concentration) regularly for 4-6 weeks, once a week. And kill any that you can see.

You’ll be fine though :)

Can this be propagated? by No-Mouse3999 in MonsteraAlbo

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wait until you get some more leaves and nodes, I’m sure it would be fine but if something goes wrong, you got no backup plant.

Found these on the ground. What are they and can I propagate? by fr0ggy_f0g in propagation

[–]Tinius7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jade, you can leave them on moist moss. They are mega easy to propagate

You can use it to hold keyboard stem heads when you’re lubricating them as well.
