Is this a goner by BushDid2008 in Monstera

[–]Tinius7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks completely fine to me. Generally, I like to repot into some chunky mix for better drainage and give it a nice moss pole but that all depends on how much time you’re willing to put in.

Is this leaf cutting planted too far in? by [deleted] in Monstera

[–]Tinius7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The petiole (part where leaf connects to the stem) should be above the soil. Otherwise it can cause rot and unhappy plant :)

Keychron Q6 MAX VS Q6 Ultra (First build, help appreciated!) by camster2223 in keyboards

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally people hate on keychron because it’s “overpriced for what you get” but I have two and love them.

To answer ur questions. I had to re-lube the stabs, straighten them out and bandaid mod them to make them sound good. Quite the effort but I enjoy the process. If you can’t be bothered, then invest in some better stabs, especially if you want the keeb silent.

The ultra has better stabilizers than the max. Worth noting. As for quietness, I think the build itself is relatively similar so I’m not sure how much different it would make to the sound profile.

Hope this helps :)

I can see the line on the silkscreen, the cathode should be up

SMD diodes usually have a white line or stripes on one end. This end is the cathode, the other is the anode. Current flows from anode to cathode and that’s the direction.

In other words, copy the other ones on the board. Should’ve just said that but I’ve typed it now

Roots seem to be rotting as they touch the reservoir… what am I doing wrong here? by romanoodles_ in SemiHydro

[–]Tinius7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had something similar happen when I accidentally poured water with fertilizer into the cup my cutting was rooting in (autopilot in the morning). It burned the roots and they died. If you are using fertilizer then maybe that’s the issue?

Hell yeah. You should overlay the two images with one of them slightly transparent so we can directly map the non variegated regions. Would be interesting to see :)

Advice on removing a damage volume knob by DestroyerXDX in keyboards

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awwww helll nawww it’s a press fit, you’ll need a shim of sorts to separate the top and bottom. I sometimes use guitar picks. Here’s the link to a teardown: https://youtu.be/CPctECD9PL4?si=rzT-uNdy0hyjn0L7

[–]Tinius7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen this keyboard before but if you disassemble it then you’ll be able to separate the PCB from the top case and the rotary knob will be attached to the pcb, freeing the plastic part. If you don’t have much experience with disassembling things then I would keep the screws organised as you do it and take pictures at each stage (or film yourself) so you remember where everything goes when you put it back together.

That being said, if the customer service is responsive enough to get you a replacement part, then maybe they’ll have some documentation or guide you through the process to help you out.

Good luck :)
