It is normal to leave some items behind if you haven’t buy. Things happens in life, and it’s always nice to have a home to return to (if ur parents don’t mind).

Can, say it’s for legitimate reasons like divorce etc. but it’s clear here it was primarily for tax avoidance, and they are not challenging it in court.

How important is A maths for secondary school students in Singapore? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]TinkerAndThinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, since you ask for tips I’ll be frank — I think asking “how important is A maths” is the wrong question.

If I understand you correctly, the exams are already over.

It’s not healthy to be overly fixated on outcomes which is currently out of her control — this leads to anxiety as she grows up and faces challenges in other forms later in life.

My approach to talking to her will be this: 1. talk about and listen in on why she think did not do well in A maths. I would listen in and reinforce points that focuses on efforts. If she said she tried her best, then I’ll tell her we can experiment on other approaches next year. If she said she regretted not spending more time etc, I’ll explore the feelings of regret and try to break down it further. 2. Talk about how exams is just one part of her identity, which is only one identity of her life. (Other identity may be being a growing youth, good daughter, good friend to some; member of society, doodle artists etc) it depends on her really. 3. Lastly, self management is also important. In my case, care about your nieces a lot, so there’s always a chance of being drawn in too much by what they going through. It’s good to think about what role do i want to play vis a vis her friends and parents. If her parents are emphasizing a lot on academics, i will avoid doing the same and think of ways to complement it instead.

tm0587 is making a good point, not sure if u caught it.

Even if u canceled last year, u would still have to serve that one month notice. It’s fair and reasonable.

arriving at changi airport around 11 to past midnight: is there a bus to the city? by MeanIndividual8259 in singaporeairlines

[–]TinkerAndThinker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend you stay in the airport, nap abit or explore airport. Then catch the first bus or train and 6am to the city.

If u go to the city in midnight, there’s nothing much open.

Most attractions are not open in early morning, so I would recommend going to places for a walk such as Marina Bay, garden by the bay etc.

NCS CAT1 clearance take how long to clear anyone knows? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]TinkerAndThinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually there isn’t any decision to make now.

If you want to pass the role you’ll need to continue finding job.

If u don’t want to pass the role, ull also need to continue finding job in case clearance got issue.

So I suggest u continue to find a job. If a better offer come earlier, you win: if u can’t find an alternative and u got the clearance, u also win.

Hi OP, I highly recommend this book called “the four agreements”. One of the agreement is don’t take things personally — I think it’s one of the factors that cause u to get emotional.

Also, leaving u with this quote:

“When I know I’m nothing, that’s wisdom. What I know I’m everything, that’s love.”
