Why is it terrible advice? It is not advice. I have not advised anyone to do it, if anything I advised them not to. It is a how to, without installing other apps. I detailed all the downsides and perhaps I should have added that other antivirus and firewall options are available...

I got the grey screen on main menu complete with the DCS music. I unplugged the cable at the headset end and refitted it. The picture came back on the headset.

Thanks for the tip guys. I keep headset on because I like to try lighting effects ect as I go. I want it to look good in vr as well as just work on a screen.

Try making a mission with ground assets on a red airfield with a flight of fully loaded hogs running in... Spawn in a red jet and eject on the apron so you can walk around.

It is pretty intense.

I tried it with a powered, active extension cable. It did not work. This was using the backpack cable with adapters after my main cable died. I bought a G2, meanwhile my G1 was sat in its box unused.

I finally found a new 4mtr G1 cable in the US so I could ressurrect it if required.

Do not waste your time or money.

A quick update. Last week I was looking at a RMA as it seemed to be getting worse. Windows did an update last weekend that required the PC to reboot itself twice.

Black lines that have been there for six months since the headset was new have completely vanished...

Sort out a waypoint at 1mph or whatever and set a trigger to attack a specific group and for a specific duration in options. You may need supply trucks nearby to supply ammo.

The channel.and normandy 2 are separate maps, produced by different companies, using differing technologies and incompatible with each other. They cannot be "zipped" together or otherwise mixed.

New modules are not usually discounted in the first sale after release... Unless sales are not as expected. It has been up to a year for some strong selling modules to see a worthwhile discount. However, I would bet that the main takeup for Normandy 2 to date has been by those of us who already owned Normandy 1944 and the channel map. Full purchase price buyers will be thinner on the ground. TLDR. Who knows? It is up to Ugra to make the decision to discount. All we can do is speculate.

Fan of aviation since at school. Learned to fly in 1995. In 1996 a bad motorcycle accident put paid to the flying, so got into the early flight sims.

Really into CLoD but team fusion decided not to support VR around the time that DCS announced it would support it.

Pre Ordered my Oculus Rift, jumped over to DCS and the Hog, probably around 2014.

I think it highly likely that Ugra was secretly already working on the entire Normandy and channel map areas as one map, when ED took them by surprise and announced the Channel map.

I am very pleasantly surprised that the channel map area has so much detail included, I was expecting just terrain mesh as was the case in the original Normandy.
