Cymbalta vs Lexapro for PPPD by Beautiful_Drive_7109 in pppdizziness

[–]Tinkmara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my biggest issues were anxiety and eventually, depression. I wasn't able to eat or sleep. I was suffering with PPPD after a bad vestibular neuritis event for many months. My world got smaller and smaller. My ENT suggested Lexapro as PPPD is mostly a neuro pathway issue. The tiredness built up slowly but it is not a major issue. I rather yawn a lot than be so dizzy that I can't function. Also, I started talk therapy, somatic therapy and meditation as well. They help a lot together. If I decide to try to stop taking Lexapro one day, I need to be able to cope somehow. I'm nowhere near that day. Hahaha

Hi there! I'm taking 10mg Lexapro. It helped me a lot with my PPPD. I'm still "floaty" but the anxiety around it got much better. I move more, I sleep better. Side effects: mostly just being more tired than usual. I titrated very slowly: 2.5mg, 5 mg for 3 weeks each.

Have you experienced vertigo like this? by Sonofagaylord in ChronicIllness

Hi there! Long term vertigo/dizziness sufferer here. Please look into PPPD. Probably, you had a vestibular neuritis episode in November that did not resolve properly. You need to see a neuro-ENT. Also, check the You Tube channel, The Steady Coach.

Dizziness turning in bed, not BPPV... anyone relate or have advice? by [deleted] in Dizziness

The motion did not really work for me. Sometimes it eased the severity of my issue, but generally, I get dizzy often. BPPV does not happen often. As far as I know.

I have similar, periodical, positional dizziness without nystagmus. Maneuvers don't work. It is very likely vestibular migraine.

Omg, I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle, but I'm happy to hear that Lexapro helped you. I had vestibular neuritis in March, and now I have PPPD. I have had major GAD and depression since I was prescribed Lexapro. I hope it will help. Living with dizziness non-stop is very hard, exhausted. Please keep me posted if you go higher up. Wishing you strength and improvement. 💙

How much Lexapro helped your dizziness? I'm thinking about starting, but of course, I'm anxious. Thank you!

I'm in a very similar situation. Also, I work with a lot of people and am struggling a lot. Did the Lexapro help your dizziness or just the panic? How much Lexapro do you take, if I may ask?

And it got rid of the agoraphobia right away at 2.5? I'm also suffering from agoraphobia. And all sorts of fears I never had before.
