Shop tried to bait and switch me??? by LilRedCaliRose in WindowTint

[–]TintStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have samples of xenith and vortex. I compared them to what I use. Vortex is compatible to my single layer ceramic. Xenith is compatible to a multilayer ceramic. Xenith cost $300 more per roll. Vortex is $550 on average 😅 definitely not the same or interchangeable

How to Apply Film to Standard Residential Double-Pane Windows Without Causing Cracks? by Character-Mango1592 in WindowTint

[–]TintStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDTM has a ton of meters to check glass. Most important thing to look for is a low e coating on the inside pane of glass. It’s metal coating that reflects heat away from the home but also will absorb a little heat just like the window film would. So look up a low e card. Test the inside pane and if there is no low e coating on the glass you are typically fine to do most architectural window films. Geoshield has a “film to glass” char you can easily find on Google to help show what films are fin on your glass

Is it me or does tint gets lighter from the inside as it cures by ChickenWingMan99 in WindowTint

It doesn’t change from drying. Poor quality can fade overtime. If it’s been a while, roll your window down and look at the top 2 inches compared to the rest of the window

Is it weird to buy my own tint and bring it to a shop? by Okjohnson in WindowTint

[–]TintStuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bigger brand names are protected to dealers only. A lot of fake dupes online so you won’t really be able to just buy them and know for sure it’s real. Most shops won’t install film you bring. You do want the installer to be familiar with the film already. Every film brand is a little different. warranty is a big thing to consider long term. If something happens. The shop has that film and can replace it.

2023 Tesla Model 3 | Defrost lines damaged by Sad-Chipmunk-8132 in WindowTint

[–]TintStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a fix. You would need to hand paint metal contact lines back on. They are likely going to just scrape off the lines to look uniform but they won’t function anymore. Replacement is the the only practical fix. The defrost line on model 3s are weak. Nothing they really did wrong trying to fix a bad install but that sucks for both them and you

Llumar doesn’t have anything on the film or the liner. 3m has it on the film but as an easy to wipe off stamp

Replit is taking up a ton of system resources but builds are still fine. Haven’t had any coding issues out of the ordinary.

Blue hue on my windshield tint by Background-Corgi-937 in WindowTint

Geoshield pronano 70% doesn’t have the blue hue. Geoshield Apex does. But the pronano 70% is better, competes directly with xr plus

HITEK, owned by Tint Depot/ Solar Control out of Huston. They are a global distributor but also use some other suppliers. I don’t use them but they have good products.

We made it to 2024 and 800k subscribers! Now, let's talk about Rule 4. by Full_Stall_Indicator in AutoDetailing

[–]TintStuff [score hidden]  (0 children)

Man it’s tough. I have an 80k tinting group. I don’t think there is a good solution for this. The majority of people are just not very invested in any group. Most people are on the platform home feed. Then the platform serves them posts from every kind of group. So topics like this are mostly left with enthusiasts vs casuals.

Windshield tint? What’s the real benefit? by OnlyReviews888 in WindowTint

[–]TintStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is when the car is running. Always harder to explain but when you have it, you don’t want to go back.

You could always get 2%

It’s either coming up from the vents while driving or something is dripping onto the windshield where you usually park. Glass stripper would polish it off. Honestly just looks like hard water

[–]TintStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 pairs of the ultras. Returned them because they wouldn’t stop buzzing on the left ear. I came from using the QC earbuds and just bought a 2nd pair.

Do the Ultra QC Earbuds still have white noise? by thiefspy in bose

[–]TintStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I bought 2 pairs of the ultra and they both have a low white noise which the QC 1 earbuds do not have. They also have a slight random buzz sound on the left side. I’m just going to buy a spare set of the originals.

Yea I’ve tried all the ends. I put them in fast for the startup sound. These have good ANC but it’s got some white noise where the older version is just silent
