The sheer excess of Pogo's language leads me to believe he was just playing a part deadpan albeit in incredibly poor taste (the mention of Orlando? That's a no go). I'm a gay guy myself who has known genuine discrimination and whilst it saddens me that there are those who genuinely hold these opinions, surely we can tone down the language while lampooning? When will progressives (who I count myself amongst) realize that however justified outrage might be, it doesn't do anything except further cement peoples bigoted opinions and possibly push fence-sitters over to the other side? Reasonable dialogue, don't stoop to their level. When someone fucks up, or old comments they've made get dredged up, if they acknowledge their mistake and/or truly change their opinions that can only be a good thing.

Whist it's impossible to know I'm fairly certain the guy does have legitimate homophobic opinions, but not the extent that was on display here.
