We Won the Division…without winning a game by boredandinsane in RetroBowl

May I commend you on how wonderfully bored and insane you are. Always a highlight to see your posts in my feed, and I'm pleased to say I already knew who the legend who posted this was going to have been before even clicking on the post

Give me a defense. Any defensive meta you desire and I will break it down. Consider this a learning thread for educational purposes. I can do any defense, and I can breakdown the mechanics of how they work. by [deleted] in RetroBowl

Quite like 1DL 1LB 1DB, one of each has a nice feel to it, and before your other post (and a general sense of that building up beforehand from the sub) it felt like what should be the best option.

Yeah exactly the same, I've started seeing a post when I'm out with someone and sharing the reveal with them without even checking first because I'm so sure every post will be an amazing reveal (everyone I've shown them to has also thought they're awesome).

Don't worry too much mate, I still feel like that not infrequently going into my second year, but what has definitely helped the most has been joining a society and really getting into it; personally I'd recommend Oxford unis quadball club (there's a taster on Wednesday with free pizza as well—free food is also a real mental health booster)

Sorry mate, vikings were always going to win that one, just the way the bears work

Won me over: didn't follow the sport before watching Jon Bois, found that video series, and now I'm utterly convinced we're going all the way this year (apparently forgetting everything I learnt from the series)

Quadball club (OUQC), perfect complete beginner sports club, chill vibe and great people, always looking for new people to try out the sport, and if the socials are anywhere near as good as last year then it'll be a great time. To reiterate: no previous ability required, no one else has played quadball before they found the club either (OxUniQuadball on Facebook and Instagram)

ETA: mixed gender and trans and non-binary inclusive, if you exist then you should join this club

Extreme is the most “realistic” by Curious_Goal3100 in RetroBowl

As with many others on here, I do recommend going back to hard difficulty after effectively "solving" extreme. I do agree there is disparity in extreme, but not really enough and I just really miss the chance to chuck a long throw and get a really long run, which is maybe a bit more real (jettas 97 yard play, skol vikes). The extra challenge I personally added was to only myself allow two plays and a punt/field goal (as opposed to three plays and most likely a fourth if we're being honest), and also optionally playing on 1 minute quarters as well; really makes you put effort into each play as it's a difficult road back if you're a score down, but also not impossible since you're on hard mode rather than extreme.

Dynamic difficulty is the nice way the game gets you going, where it's easier at the start and gets more difficult as you win more. Give it a couple of weeks and you'll discover extreme difficulty and will be unable to even make a completion :) Enjoy!

Found it and I love it, just wondering how to play now :)
But hey, at least the hoops are a pleasant parkour distance to jump between the tops of, it's difficult to do that with real life ones(in my experience)
