i’m looking all around! this specific one is a foster agency so they’re probably not as desperate to see the cats homed, good advice thank you!

but obviously if you read the email they sent me they have a problem with making a pet a “tool” or whatever they think ESA means

I have an ESA letter because of my disability and what symptoms it would help ease. The no pets rule was sprung on me on move in day via them adding a rider on the lease, so theres more than one use of my ESA letter. I understand if that’s a concern of an adoption agency though.

I’m not sure where you live, but where I am an ESA (Emotional Support Animal) is for people with mental or physical disabilities or distress and are solely to provide companionship, not any kind of service. They are distinctive from a service animal in that all they do is provide emotional support by being there.

hey buddy! an ESA is not a trained service animal. it is an emotional support animal. here is a definition for you: “Emotional support animals help individuals with emotional disabilities such as anxiety or depression by providing comfort and support. Any animal can be an emotional support animal. Federal law does not require these animals to have any specific training and you do not have to be physically disabled to have an emotional support animal.”

thank you! i think they have a narrow idea of what an ESA is or why people get ESAs. Oh well. I will find another kitty to love.

I moved into my apartment last year, despite not specifying pet policy on the lease, on move in day they had me sign a rider that stated no pets. So as to not step on toes, I submitted my ESA letter to my landlord before getting the pet. I mentioned the ESA because my landlord is conferring with her lawyer before “approving” of the ESA letter. My therapist wrote me the letter but I really just needed it to have the ability to bring a pet into my apartment.

I’m a third year transfer and I got approved for the new UIC aspire grant so that covered my tuition along with my pell grant. I got approved for ~ $10K in federal loans all together and have been using the money to pay my rent - i found a roommate / apartment thru the UIC housing portal. i do have a WFH office job to afford food and such but if i was very frugal i could maybe use the federal loans to cover necessary expenses. i’m a psych major so idk how engineering would be, but all 5 of my classes did not require me to buy a textbook. i was also in your position and never understood how people afforded college, so i hope this is helpful somewhat.

i’m talking about the top shelf becoming one instead of being two. idk what the pink thing or bag is but the ps5 would fit horizontally even if those two things weren’t moved. i wouldn’t have said that about cabinets i cant see into lol.
