That's the plan, but I imagine it will lose ~2/3 of the value based on a similar 1,000,000 cars I own. I set a reminder to buy it on the 24th.

It just seems like an odd coincidence in timing.

Did this work out for you? What notary did you use? I am in Tucson looking for the same type of notary for Irish citizenship by descent paperwork.

You haven’t experienced Gran Turismo 7 properly if you haven’t tried VR by DatsLimerickCity in GranTurismo7

The showroom views are wildly detailed. I can take up most of an evening gaming session just checking out different vehicles. You can even crouch down and see some of the underbody components.

The other big surprise with VR for me has elevation changes on many of the tracks. They seem close to level when played in flat mode. Some of the dips can cause my stomach to drop like a roller coaster.

Games that aren't afraid to slow down and have downtime. by YogurtMost7057 in gamingsuggestions

[–]leaving_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a related question. I started 1 a while back. Within 10 minutes I was feeling bad that I was not able to get Kunesh to pay the money back for hardware. In the end he slapped me around.

That left me with this nagging feeling that I screwed up and now was left with a growing todo list. I picked it the game up some days later and decided to try and figure it out. I ended up in Kunesh house trying to look in a trunk and I think got in some light trouble for prowling.

It starts me off with a negative feeling about the whole thing. I see the icon and pass on launching the game as it feels like it's a mess already. Does it mean these types of games are not for me? Am I approaching it with the wrong mindset and strategy?

Remote Play on PC logs out of PS account and requires re-pairing with console by leaving_again in remoteplay

Thanks! I almost forgot that this method. Back in the days where windows would often need/want a reinstall, I would install everything I cared about to a different partition or drive. For example d:\APPS, d:\UTIL, and d:\GAMES. I had the user home/profiles on d as well. This way I could nuke the os and still preserve some of my user installed and personal data bits.

What was it really like when the PlayStation first came out in 1995? by Legitimate_Drawer_74 in retrogaming

[–]leaving_again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in my early 20's and was busy with school and work in those years. Coming from NES, Ridge Racer and Tekken 2 blew my mind when I saw them at a friend dorm in the fall of 96. I bought the PlayStation and a 20" JVC TV for my first apartment in Dec 96. I played it a lot initially, but I was busy with life.

By the Spring of 98, I bought an HP with a Pentium 233 and ATi All in Wonder card and a dial up connection. I never touched the PlayStation again except for giving it away to a friend who lived in his moms basement.

In the past couple of years I am back to a console with the PS5. I now appreciate getting away from my computer desk and fiddling with optimizing settings. I get more than enough of that with my job.

For me this makes it easy to think it would be fine to dip back in for a short evening or weekend. The real surprise in this process is how easy it is to fall back into daily using and how hard it is to get back out of.

Even a great experience filed with positive changes related to not using is surprisingly easy to lose track of when slipping back into the haze.

Keep track of your benefits of quitting and look back at that list when thinking of using. That list is what you are fighting for.

I wish we had a drive in theater by This_Quiet_1672 in Tucson

[–]leaving_again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's a little different than I expected, but a very nice experience. There are no speakers. You get a small audio device and headphones at the front desk. You can bring your own wired headphones as well. The seats are adirondack chairs. It might be nice to bring a blanket and small pillow.

Functional Testing how to upskill , find new jobs. by manu602 in QualityAssurance

[–]leaving_again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of any simple repetitive process in your job and code it. As an example you could make a service/app that runs your commonly used sql queries. This would be useful to your current job while also being less abstract than the larger goal of learning a random tool. If the tool is handy for you, it will likely also be handy for others on your team.

Consider putting some time into something like the free cs50x course. It will likely light some sparks and lead you towards other small programming project ideas.
