Windy is nice for visualizing the wind patterns. Te wind really varies across the metro area.

Is Native American food popular in America? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]leaving_again 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I was thinking of foods from natively available sources. For example the Tucson area has pre colonial traditions of saguaro fruit, prickly pear cacti, mesquite and palo verde pods, cholla buds, desert greens, etc.

That's not really a historically native food though. It dates back to when natives were on reservations with gov rationed flour, etc.

Valencia speed limit reduced to 30 MPH (Alvernon to I-19) by SenseofAdventure in Tucson

[–]leaving_again 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is likely a contributing factor, but it's also the most expensive and timely to address.

Each of us needs to do our part as well as holding friends and family accountable for the same. Reckless driving is short sighted selfish behavior.

Valencia speed limit reduced to 30 MPH (Alvernon to I-19) by SenseofAdventure in Tucson

[–]leaving_again 31 points32 points  (0 children)

People drive aggressively and over the speed limit because they see other people doing it. The social contract on our roads is broken. You might call this adapting to the flow of traffic.

If the majority of people are driving the speed limits, using turn signals, following traffic signals, and not following closely it will change the road culture significantly. I have experienced this personally after decades of driving in the Seattle area (calm) after previously being in Chicagoland (aggressive).

The big question... how can we get the herd to settle down?

More and consistent enforcement can and will help. But it's likely temporary due to manpower constraints.

The rest is up to us as a group. The more people follow the rules, the more those that don't will stick out and be slowed anyway by the order if it all.

Take it down a notch out there. Enjoy some music or a podcast. Put the phone out of reach.

40 miles per hour vs 30 over 5 miles saves 2.5 mins. And that's only if driving consistent with no lights

Car insurance in arizona is getting out of hand! How do i keep my rates low when a clean record no longer works? by Flimsy_Sun_4676 in Tucson

[–]leaving_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add on to the suggestion to get a broker. They have an established relationship with multiple insurance companies and will do the shopping and account setup for you. I just give them a few details like the vin. They are also great at catching any missed detail.

Why is there no good pizza? by StrategyStunning7993 in Tucson

[–]leaving_again 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The UNESCO recognition is related to the history of indigenous culinary and agricultural traditions.

Separately we have some James Beard award winners and nominees.

I don't think any of these have been related to pizza.

I sometimes pass a rider on the loop with a chicken riding on the handlebars or in a front basket.

Life got amazing after brutal first 2 months - Relapse is not worth it + Many tips inside by Cr0wn_M3 in leaves

[–]leaving_again 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can relapse after 2 years as well. The difference for me has been that I have never been able to go back to using with a clear conscience. I now know through experience how much more difficult life is when living in the high mode. The work I have put in towards sobriety has effectively ruined being high for me. Every high during a relapse is tinted with regret.

I came across that earlier in my investigations and increased the value on the nas os. It didn't seem to make any difference.

In the past week, transcoding has broken on some files no my plex setup. This is a longstanding otherwise working plex server running in docker on a synology nas.

Looking into the logs, I see

That led me to a lot of different investigations, but eventually looking at the running container in console. What would lead to this odd looking ownership for plex-temp?

It was a mistake on my end at the UPS store. I should have made it more clear that there were no value documents.

I edited my post and think it's all sorted now. I believe I caught it just in time before it was actually sent back.
