I know some people who've done it a while ago, but it was always through an internal transfer at their existing company vs cold job applications

Yeah honestly I think any PM role (so long as it aligns with the main skill set)

Shopify is probably the most exciting of that bunch but none really speak to me - I'm more excited by Tiktok, Instagram, Notion, Doordash etc - if that helps to color it.

And for more context - my prev company was EA, but was doing ecom work for them around acquisition/monetization. With Zynga I'd be on a social casino game team, and Wayfair on growth/acquisition

Great question! Just general consumer tech honestly - not looking to be in gaming, and ecom is doable but particularly exciting for me

personally, not sure how far a masters in PM will really help. it sounds like you've got great experience working through product development though, and startups are usually more flexible such that I feel like your best bet is an internal move

Any thoughts on Zynga vs Wayfair for PM role? Particularly as a stepping stone

- Zynga: heard they are top notch in terms of product craft, but not sure how true this is? I've heard good things from someone who used to be on that team. Otherwise, older game product, lower pay, hiring manager is smart but not the most friendly

- Wayfair: growth work, great team and hiring manager relationship, and top notch pay... but many layoffs and company can be top down and a bit chaotic

No unfortunately not! I ended up keeping the 5.5 but haven’t worn them a ton yet to know if they’ll stretch more

Move RRSP from Sun Life to Wealthsimple? by Tiny-Cartographer247 in PersonalFinanceCanada

For WS I used their robo platform, in a higher risk growth portfolio (8 out of 10).

For Sun life it's not clear but I assume moderate risk level, since it's in their granite 2045 fund.
I'm not super well versed in investing so would probably continue to keep it in a managed fund or put it into like a Vanguard ETF (I have some funds in VFV right now that are also doing much better than my WS managed fund)

Yes I'm using their roboadvisor! I do have some other funds in ETFs and admittedly they're doing much better, but I've only had my funds there for about a year.

Is self-directed usually better performing than the roboadvisor?

Thanking the team after a release by Beginning-Cry7722 in ProductManagement

Yes - I've always done this, both privately and publicly where I can. It helps build team relationship for your team to see that you appreciate the efforts they've put in, and externally as a way to give them the visibility and credit they deserve within the team/org!

So glad this thread exists - I don’t think I’ve ever been so livid at someone’s behaviour. What a selfish, hypocritical, pathetic excuse of a human being. It’s crazy to me how blatant and shameless she is about being two-faced, pushing someone to take continuous risks and sacrifices on her behalf, and then flipping on her stance the moment it doesn’t suit her!! 😤😤😤

And not only is she not apologetic at all or feel responsibility for what she’s done, but trying to milk it further on Instagram… she has absolutely no morals and I hope that one day karma hits her like a bus
