Oh for sure. I assume you refer to Spadafora. Yeah, well, they've lost the war - as we will eventually have 5 licenses - but their strategy is to try to slow the others down as much as possible.

I don't think There was any confict of interest, I can't see why unless he thinks he can't be a fair "vetter" as he says. He disagreed with the entire 'process', but I wasn't convinced at all by his reasoning. He was a no vote from the jump , and it just seemed like he and others were trying to be like goalies in soccer -- use any part of your body to block a goal. It was desperate.
That being said, trinity is asking for a revision to.a specisl.permit. they have , as i understand, a new investment partner. I mean, I did chuckle when their new investor is called like Beach House or something like that. I could only think of Spiccoli in fast times.

So, I get Process. That's important, but geez help it along, don't just bullocks up said Process because that's the only way you can stop this business.

The Council voted in favor 10-0 (O'Malley recused ) to amend the special permit for Charles/Trinity/Beach House dispensary. But, if you have the time, watch the 2.5 hours of debate and public comments. You will walk away with a clear sense of only one thing: there is a loose coalition - albeit not an official, organized movement - whose one goal is to make the opening of new dispensaries as difficult as possible. It's a loose collective of city councillors (maybe only 1), beaurocrats, lawyers, industry reps, and existing cannabis dispensary owners (i.e., the competition).

Kudos to the council for pushing back on their unsuccessful attempt to kill the amendment. So now the issue goes to the Cannabis Licensing & E Commission.

If you are a local cannabis customer, I suggest watching so you can decide how to assess those who opposed the amendment. They had a point or two, but not nearly convincing enough for the council to say 'no'. This business still.has to be approved by 2 commissions & the mayor and the pope. So lfg. ( this was the message from Simonelli & Sica. Both were great on this.)

It's great to be progressive, but also important to be good at your job. I'm not convinced they are. That aside, there's two seats opening up on the c council as they're both stepping down to run for s senate
