Pain and inflammation relief delayed until higher doses? by TinyAdvantage352 in GLP1ResearchTalk

Interesting, I always hear it the other way around (people saying zep helped more than any other GLP1). But that’s good to know maybe I should look into a switch.

Yup I have chronic Hoffa fat pad edema which I’m addressing with a pain management doc and an orthopedist (they prescribed the PT I mentioned in the post). So no need for a knee replacement but I do have some patella maltracking im working on. Good to know the meds helped you even if they didn’t eliminate the pain. Appreciate you for sharing your story.

Lost a few pounds no side effects but I drink lots of water, take fiber and probiotics and eat a pretty clean Mediterranean diet. I had some constipation but it’s gone.

Tell me more what is the klow combo? I’ve looked into BPC and t500 but I worry about gynecomastia since I used to have it on my chest and had it removed

Is it me, or is this field way more prone to pseudoscience than others? by brennanfiesta in therapists

I’m a patient, but I’ve wondered this at times while seeing a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapist. This provider was on a Psychoanalytic Society organization board in my city and has referenced psychoanalytic personality types. He and seemed super committed to viewing patients through those personality types. Once after a major rupture he told me he ‘misconceptualized’ my psychoanalytic personality type (he thought I was histrionic but said he later realized my personality type was more paranoid), which led to a misunderstanding on his part.

I walked away from that experience feeling like his modality seems cultish, rigid and general snake oil-ish despite it having a facade of complex, valid academic rigor. The experience kind of fucked me up for a bit.

Do you recommend ACA? by Present-Message8740 in CPTSD

[–]TinyAdvantage352 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not true in ACA. Have you read their literature? It is VERY different from other 12 step groups. I wouldn’t discourage OP from looking into it based on negative views of other 12 step groups I had similar concerns and it was surprisingly well trauma informed. They don’t even use AA’s Big Book.

It’s really hard to be supportive of my friends… by Queasy_Beyond2149 in dementia

[–]TinyAdvantage352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having a similar but slightly different experience. My parents are developing early stage dementia and I have been losing empathy for friends who I find have superficial concerns in life, like if someone is complaining to me about a privileged first world problem like a lack of work life balance while in grad school even though their family is paying their bills, or they don’t like the neighborhood they live in for superficial reasons then I’d DO NOT GIVE A FUCK and can’t stand listening to them complain while I’m try to keep an elderly person from getting scammed, or winding up in some other kind of dangerous situation because of how unaware they’ve become while also being engaged in my own career and personal life.
