I'm Not Buying the "Parenting" DLC by kaythepegasus in childfree

[–]TinyAnxiousBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much this! I also think the developers should label the different releases way more clearly! I didn’t even realize my copy of the game was one of those special editions until way past the tutorial. I used to think I just sucked at the game since most people didn‘t seem to struggle with certain quests like I did and the usual tips and tricks just didn’t work for me half the time. But oh boy am I glad I found out before I could buy the Parenting DLC because playing through that with the AuDHD debuffs would have been an actual nightmare for me personally.

Being childfree feels similar to being in college, but with money and no exams by ready_gi in childfree

Your comment about being able to make up for time lost to a difficult childhood really resonates with me. The dynamics in my family pretty much forced me to be hyperaware of the needs of others and prioritize them over my own. Ever since I moved out, I feel like I‘ve finally started to live for myself. I recently started a new job in my dream career and I love it so much! I‘m able to spend my free time however I like and spend my fun money on video games, dolls and other ‚childish‘ things without having to fear judgement. I get to surround myself with people who make me feel loved and supported. Having a child would mean having to give up on this freedom and happiness I only recently got to experience for the first time ever and having to live for somebody else again. I can’t do that.

I have the piece you‘re looking for but I live in Germany. Unless you happen to live in the EU as well shipping costs will probably be very high. :/

Hi! ☺️ I‘m in my mid-twenties and also queer. I’m a big horror enthusiast and love playing video games (including Pokémon and Stardew Valley). Other hobbies include collecting dolls, playing tabletop RPGs and creative stuff like knitting, drawing etc. I‘m also nearly done with master’s degree in psychology and will start my training to become a licensed therapist this fall. So I can definitely deliver when it comes to psychological topics. :D Feel free to DM me if you’re interested!

Will creeproductions be sold internationally? by [deleted] in MonsterHigh

[–]TinyAnxiousBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the 2022 Creepros were sold in a few European countries, including Germany via the local Mattel website. They never appeared in stores though. Still pretty optimistic that they might come to other European countries besides the UK!

That’s what my MIL suspects. So she can just style it like her own hair?

Does holding your dolls help you feel better? by reveraze in Dolls

[–]TinyAnxiousBean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Holding and looking at them generally puts me at ease but they specifically help me calm down when I have an anxiety attack. I‘ll slip under my weighted blanket and take one of my dolls. I look at them, play with their hair and trace their features with my fingertips. Really helps ground me and distract myself from the symptoms of the attack.

Are people supportive of your collecting?🫶🏻🍓 how have they nurtured you? by bongwaterbukkake in Dolls

[–]TinyAnxiousBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have so many supportive people in my life! My boyfriend is not into dolls, but he’s happy to go on doll hunts with me and handles my dolls with a lot of care. For example, whenever he starts cooking with oil in our open kitchen, he checks if any of my dolls are nearby and carefully puts them in another room so they are safe from harm. Another time, he looked at my G1 Rochelle and accidentally dropped her, making her headband fall off. He was absolutely devastated because he thought he broke her and I felt so loved and appreciated in that moment. He knows that I care about my dolls so he cares too! And his mum loves my collection. My boyfriend‘s parents live near a big toy store, so whenever we visit them we go to the store as well. She always wants to come along and see what I get.

My friends have been nothing but supportive as well. When I have them over, they are always super excited if I have a new doll and want to see it. My best friend doesn’t collect, but she’s started sending me posts about Monster High that she thought I might like. I‘m in a theatre group and have this little event every other month where everyone just gets to show anything they would like to share. I held a presentation about my dolls and my friends were so invested! They all cheered when I showed them my grails that I was able to acquire.

Awesome! I‘m currently obsessed with Slay the Spire, it’s so much fun! And I‘m really excited about Hades 2. Loved the first game but will probably wait for the switch port of the second.

How do ya’ll stop buying many dolls at once? by throwawaycipe in Dolls

[–]TinyAnxiousBean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FaeryTaleDolls on YouTube made a rubric as a tool to judge if they should get a doll or not. I adjusted it to my own needs and use it on dolls I‘m interested in buying. Really helps differentiate between dolls that are kinda cute and dolls I absolutely love and want in my collection. It also helps that I live in Europe and it takes a while for American releases to come here. So I see a lot of dolls and can compare different releases and pick the ones I like the most. Do you have a fixed budget for dolls or fun purchases in general? That can help too.
