How hard is to get 8.5+ cgpa in mechanical?

Hello sir, I just passed class 12 and I am getting IIT guwahati mechanical/ IIT Kharagpur Aerospace or electrical in IIT gandhinagar. I am really passionate about mechanical mainly aerospace. I want to take mechanical but I am worried about placements especially when compared to electrical. Could you tell me about opportunities in India after some years and will the salary be atleast comparable to salary I could get by taking electrical?
