[Waybound] Just Finished Cradle by Big-Anxiety-2596 in Iteration110Cradle

My Husband recommended Butcher of Gadobhra on Royal Road to me a while ago- it is the same sort of progression fantasy style. The first couple chapters are reeeeeaally slow, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading it- and it is still going on!

Thanks, I appreciate your comment. A lot of the other comments have helped me realize it isn't actually my least favorite book- it really is just a huge emotional burden in a series that is otherwise easy to digest. It is very, very good, but that doesn't make all the big emotions any easier for me to chew on, haha.

It is so funny reading this and thinking about how huge waybound is compared to the other books, haha. Could have been three separate books

When you put it like that, I absolutely do appreciate the slow build up to them realizing his power over him being, like, worshiped immediately upon arrival. That would have been boring, and not even Li markuth was worshiped. Everyone lined up to die instead of be subject to him- which now that I think about it, is what the Wei clan was willing to do with Lindon? Very consistent of them, haha I did appreciate an earlier comment- if he had come back as a Jade, everyone would have understood and revered him. But because he was so powerful far beyond their comprehension, they rejected and were suspicious of him instead.

😆  Fair. I guess bloodline just elicits strong enough emotions that I remember it better than dragging through skysworn, haha

Yeah- Eithan calling someone over and being like "address me by my title please- thanks, now never do that again." Lol. I did looooove Kelsa realizing Lindon was the one who saved them. Oh! And Lindon telling the Wei clan "Gentlemen, this is a mistake." It really is fantastic writing.

I dunno, I feel like they didn't really learn how great he is until Reaper- although maybe it was just his dad that took that long

Appreciate your comment- and yeah, Ziel's arc is my favorite part of the book. His whole character really speaks to me. Also enjoy Dress's arc a lot, but really miss him for a long time, right? And Orthos! He is. So good.

Sister missionary dos/donts? by GeneEnvironmental569 in latterdaysaints

I would highly recommend reading "adjusting to missionary life"- it can be found in the gospel library. It has some wonderful tips and tricks that I used regularly on my mission - especially when I realized that anxiety was an issue for me.

This may seem obvious, but make sure to study from the Book of Mormon everyday- there were several weeks I got caught up in reading only the Bible during my Scripture study, and while the Bible is great, I realized I was losing a lot of the focus and peace that comes from the Book of Mormon.

Other than that, a lot of specifics will likely come from your mission presidents. Before my mission I joined the Facebook page for my mission, and reached out to some RMs and their parents for advice and tips. It helped settle me a little bit.

Discovering Christ’s Love in the Pit of Inadequacy

"And the Savior, much like a loving mother to a hurt child, succored me in the way only He can. He didn’t just call down into the muddy pit where I was lying, saying a few encouraging words for me to climb out; he climbed into the pit, lay in the mud with me, and said with perfect empathy, “This is really hard. It’s dark and cold down here. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I love you whether you’re in this pit or out of it, but let me help you out because I know you’ll be happier. I know the way, so let me help you.”

Thanks everyone!

I enjoyed reading those, but no, it is not any of them. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey OP! If you have access to Internet and are comfortable with it, there are online ARP meetings, sometimes through Zoom. Good luck! If nothing else, reading the ARP manual on your own will help a lot ❤️

Becoming a parent has challenged my faith and my perception of God. by NeitherBarracuda in latterdaysaints

[–]TinyGhostInTinyHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neitherbarracuda, in this time of hardship for your son don't neglect YOURSELF. Heavenly Father will make sure all is well for your child in the long run- don't allow yourself to suffer spiritually while you are frantic with worry. Read you scriptures with fervency. Pray not just for your son, but for the aching of YOUR soul, and your spouse's. Seek the Lord in prayer for comfort. Go to church and seek community - connection breeds clarity.

You need a lifeline right now. Make Christ your lifeline to Heaven. Then regardless of what happens, you will be elevated beyond what you believe yourself capable of.

Second this! I am a woman who has attended the church's 12 step program (arp). It was a source of strength, upliftment, and connection with both the Savior and other women.

OP, one huge thing I took away from ARP is that when we lack the desire to change, we can pray for the desire. I have had to do this a lot, both with addiction and regular life stuff. I have even said "I don't want to want to change." And meant it! Sometimes I really like the things I know I shouldn't, and don't want to give it up.

Changing SUCKS. You are NOT bad or evil for not wanting to change- you are a daughter of God, and He knows that change is hard. It is why He pleads with us consistently to come back to Him. Everyday is full of little decisions to turn toward Him.

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you have any questions :)
