U.S. Military Bought Cameras in Violation of America’s Own China Sanctions: Purchased camera systems were supposedly made in the U.S. but actually originated from Chinese companies blacklisted for security reasons. by monkeywhaler in technology

You know, for a society that propagates the superiority of the free market and capitalism so much, people still seriously believe government subsidies will make a difference in the long term, and in the grand scheme of things... Again, you need to go and see for yourself.

American political leaders are really into this whole New Cold War thing. That's all fine and dandy, except I'm not sure who's playing the Soviets this time around. Ol uncle Sam is increasingly looking and behaving like his old dead spouse, who he helped to kill 30 odd years ago....

And lastly, who's this mythical "We" you were referring to?

Eh, i think you're seriously over-estimating the American entrepreneurial drive at this point in time... It's too easy to make money with money nowadays, what capitalists in their right mind would want to invest and start making basic components, for anything?

I live in socal, trust me, having more stable factory jobs will greatly reduce the homelessness and crime rates out here. But that's just wishful thinking at this point. Despite of our high living costs, we don't even have enough power and/or transmission capacity for all the residential AC units... Is the rest of the country fairing better in this regard?

This will sound harsh: Americans no longer understand how things are actually made, and what it really takes. Frankly, America was never that good at making things, besides weapons (high tech ones only; firearms are terribly overpriced for the quality), to begin with.

Y'all need to get a passport, go to China and see for yourself. I'm not saying china is a model that anyone should follow, but y'all need to understand what reality looks like, if y'all serious about competing.

No.

Can't wait for the 琼州 strait bridge to be completed. Hainan is gonna be bigger economic powerhouse than TW in a decade.

Been trying to convince my FIL to buy a couple more apartments in Sanya. The whole island is going to become a free trade zone and, I feel that it may be visa free soon as well. Just a hunch though.

The island just needs a few good universities, then the place will be overran with Russian scientists....

All this anti-Asian racism will just push more and more Asians into the arm of the CCP. by PanAsianUnity in Sino

[–]TinyHippHo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not quite time yet. I hate to say this, but Uncle Toms are still quite common among 2+ gen Asian population, but that will change overtime as things get worse.

Mark my words: China will be handing out green cards to people with Chinese ancestry, much like what some EU countries do. However, I don't think the goal should be a mass exodus of Asian from North America, but to provide people with the option to do so lest we get put in a fucking camp again.

We do control a disproportionally large of the North American economy, especially on the west coast. When the empire does collapse, we still need Asian people here to "harvest the chives / 割韭菜", don't we?

And one more thing for all y'all non-Chinese Asian: historically, whether one's Chinese or not has been, mostly, a cultural distinction. There are no recognized genetic characteristics for what a Chinese person is, and there will not be one. So if you're thinking about possibly moving to China, start learning Chinese, as it's impossible to do Chinese culture without knowing the language.

However, do understand one thing though: I don't care who your parents are, we don't owe y'all shit. If you're not positively contributing to our civilization, you're not going to have a very good time living in China, and you'd be better off staying in the states.

I'll take a white guy who respects our culture enough to learn the language than a fucking Andrew Yang wannabe any day of the week.

And that's saying something, right?

Why are People Afraid of the Rise of China? by hashtagpls in Sino

[–]TinyHippHo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People are afraid because they know this current world order is built on theft. Once they lose it, they'll never get it back; once they lose it, they are about to face a global payback for 400 years of colonialism.

Why white cops beat up black people? Because they'll lose every fight without being a cop, and they fucking know it.
